Motivation doesn’t just show up. You create it.
In order to be motivated you need to be either
a) Moving towards something (a goal) which you are excited about achieving.
b) Moving away from something you no longer want
c) The best case scenario is a combination of A & B. This will give you the most motivation to get started.
From there you need daily energy to stay motivated. This can be simple steps like walking daily and getting adequate water intake.
Lastly you need constant progress measurements, milestones and dates. This will keep momentum going and motivation high.
These are dependent on what your specific goal and any timeframes involved.

There are a lot of quick fixes out there.
These often lead to people to rebounding, normally to a place that is even worse than where they initially started.
Changing your body shape takes time but seeing initial progress is very important for motivation.
That’s why it’s important to have a long term goal but also small check points that drive motivation at each stage is critical.
Having an understanding of what is possible for you to achieve and the time frame involved will give you confidence in the process.

❗️Never used a gym to losing 16kg (35 lbs)❗️
James came to me having never used a gym before and was unsure about the whole process. He didn’t know what was involved in changing his body shape.
I really enjoyed the process of teaching someone new to the gym.
James had a great attitude and work ethic throughout. He trained multiple times per week with me.
We had a clear goal, a step by step process for him to follow and education from the very basic level upwards, one layer at a time.

Even as a Personal Trainer you can let yourself go sometimes. We are all human after all.
The difference is I know how to get myself back on track fast (28 days) in this case and I want to teach you exactly how you can get yourself back on track, if you have added some weight over lockdown.
When I started I was feeling out of shape and lethargic. It was difficult with two back to back lockdowns, with Christmas, no gym to train at and motivation was at an all time low.

Did you know....
Lockdowns last an average of 100 days..
Long term behaviour change is far more likely after 100 days.
This can be a positive or a negative depending on what habits you have adopted.
Be aware it’s harder to shake off bad habits after this length of time.
The good news is if you have slipped into bad habits, you can change that, and the time to act is now.

Online Personal Training sessions.
When I started in the fitness industry in 2009. I didn’t think, I would be delivering training sessions from a laptop.
The process has taught me a lot.
I have become a better communicator
I have become better at coaching through verbal cues
I have learned how to adapt and be creative with session formats, based around each clients various equipment availability.
Always ensuring they get the best service and results possible via Video sessions.
