Huge thanks to .0 for coming along to our training session yesterday and providing such a fantastic picnic for everyone. If you haven’t been to the restaurant yet, the food is phenomenal!

We’ve been working in Chennai for a number of years now, supporting girls who have been affected by trafficking.

It’s not theory. It’s not short-term. It’s real work, with real young people, in partnership with a strong local organisation on the ground.

Recently, we’ve been exploring how we build on this.

One thing has become very clear: many of the boys in the juvenile justice system come from the same environments, the same trauma, and the same lack of opportunity.

If we’re serious about long-term impact, we can’t just work with victims — we also need to engage those at risk of going further down the wrong path.

So we’re developing an extension to our work in Chennai:
Using football and mentoring to work with boys aged 14–18 within the justice system.

Nothing overcomplicated.
Consistent sessions.
Positive role models.
Structure, discipline, and a different sense of identity.

This will sit alongside our existing work with girls, creating a more complete approach to supporting young people affected by trauma.

We’re not looking for headlines.

We’re looking for people who understand what long-term work actually looks like.
