City Alleyways Tour – Southwwark Healthy Ride

Saturday October 3 2026 @ 10:00 am

A short and leisurely ten-mile loop starting at 10am from the Southwark Gateway

Needle at London Bridge and getting back by 12 noon. We will ride from London

Bridge to London Wall, and then, following a coffee break at Aldwych, to Victoria

Embankment Gardens, before returning along the river to Blackfriars Bridge, and

back to London Bridge.

Temperatures are set to drop across many parts of the UK as summerlike

September warmth gives way to more autumnal conditions.

A weather front delivering outbreaks of heavy rain for some places on Wednesday

will move eastwards, leaving cooler air in its wake.

Daytime highs will be close to the late September average in most regions but

some cold nights are expected with frost possible in a few locations on Thursday

morning.

Higher temperatures will stage a partial comeback at the end of the week,

however, with south-east England likely to return to the mid-20s Celsius.

As many as 24 counties could welcome temperatures of 27C or higher, with the

hottest areas potentially reaching 29C as a late September warm spell sweeps

across parts of Britain

Brits could be in for a late September heat blast, with weather maps showing

temperatures potentially soaring to 29C in a matter of days.

The ECMWF weather model suggests the hottest conditions will be concentrated

across the south and east, but that the warmth could push much further north

than is typical for a late-September spell. By September 28, multiple major cities,

including London, Birmingham and Cambridge could all climb into the high 20s.
