Calling all juniors! The Island Junior Squash Championships are being held on 6th and 7th February. The event is kindly sponsored by TLC Finance 💙 💕 thanks to Dave Tupper, a longstanding player and supporter of Jersey Squash and Racketball.

Whether you play squash at school, or as part of Junior Squash Academy or with a family member, we welcome all juniors. The event is being held at the Jersey Squash and Racketball Club at the St Clements Sports Hub.

Juniors kickstart 2026, with the Inter Counties regional team event this weekend! Go team Dorset 👏 and fantastic to have 10 Jersey juniors in the county squads. Very excited for the year ahead!

Squash success 🏆

Last month, JCG squash team traveled to the UK to compete in the first round of the National Schools Championship.

Tyler, Sienna, Evelyn, Tallulah and Ailsa were the first Jersey students to compete in this event in over 25 years and they won a convincing 28 out of 30 games to go through to the second round.

Mrs Cadigain of the Jersey Squash and Racketball Association said: “All the girls put in strong performances against their opposition and their sportsmanship was a credit to the school both on and off court.

"They didn’t know what to expect as Jersey Schools haven’t competed in this event in a very long time but their training paid off.”

“We have more girls playing squash in Jersey than we ever have and competing in UK tournaments allows these young players to recognise not only their own ability but also what they can work towards. We hope this team inspires other schools to enter in the future.

"Having lost the courts at Fort regent last month, facilities are a challenge but we are grateful to Victoria college for allowing JCG to use their recently refurbished courts.”

This weekend we are pleased to welcome over to Jersey, Ian Thomas - Aspire Head Coach (South West) and Director of Coaching at Millfield School. In Ian’s role at the school, he has worked with several elite players including Mohammed and Marwan El Shorbagy, former World number 1 and 3 respectively.

Ian will be running sessions on Saturday and Sunday with some of our junior players who attended the County Closed in September, or are being considered for the Dorset County teams. Ian will also spend some time with the Academy coaches and hopefully provide us with some valuable feedback/ways to enhance our current junior programme.

Ian's visit to Jersey is being supported by the Ommaroo Hotel. Thanking the Ommaroo for their continued support to our sports! And we also look forward to having a coaches dinner at the Ommaroo on Saturday evening 😋 . Thank you! 🙏

The Autumn Term Academy Championships (Junior Tournament) will be taking place on Saturday 6th December.
The Junior Tournament is a free event and is open to all ages from Under 9’s through to Under 19’s. The Tournament will run from 9am - 3pm.
We will be running girls events in all age groups (depending on entries).

Entries close on December 1st!

Academy sessions will NOT be running on the 6th December.

Academy Championships Tournament (Autumn Term 2025)

Congratulations to the Jersey College for Girls U19 squash team on winning their first round of the national school championships.

A fantastic team effort by Tyler, Sienna, Evelyn, Tullulah and Ailsa. This is the first time a Jersey team has competed in this event. 2nd round to be played in January 👀
