We spend so much mental energy, we create so much frustration and guilt, from constantly leaving ourselves decisions to make..
Do I want to?
I can't..
It's different for me..
I don't have time..
All these things that run around in our brain like little squirrels on motorbikes..
You can't just 'expect' it to all happen, for time to be created,
Oh boy, the amount of conversations I have, and have had with myself; about 'just waiting for the time to be right, more free, more clear, less busy'
Life will always be life; it will be full of busyness, responsibilities, chaos, the stuff.
But it's what you make important that matters.
Commitment means that you're saved from your feelings about doing something, that you don't have to endure that game of mental tennis..
And the subsequent downfall from it when you fail to ever be consistent because life just keeps happening.
It's so easy to get stuck in your head making up all the reasons, excuses, justifications as to why you don't have to today.
But it's not about 'having to', it's about knowing what's good for you, what's important to you, where and what you're trying to achieve, and what you have to do in order to achieve it.
The feelings are irrelevant.
And it's totally okay if you're the person that would rather not be like the above.
But with that comes consequences to your health and your goals.
We all have trade offs in life to accept.
At the end of the day, you have to live with your decisions.
But I'd argue, through 6 years of doing my job..
Nobody wants to feel unfit, tired, in pain and like s**t.
Everybody wants to look good, feel good and be full of fitness, strength and health.
We can all have it.
You just need commitment.
It works when you do it.
There is no magic pill, no life hack that takes you away from the raw hard truth of just getting it done.
It makes life so much easier -
You don't have to think about it.

This is exactly why I do what I do.
Not because I want women to spend their lives in the gym.
Not because I want you to shrink your body.
And definitely not because I think you need to punish yourself into being โfitterโ.
I want you to feel capable in your body.
To get stronger.
To support your joints.
To move without fear.
To feel more confident in what your body can actually do.
And perhaps most importantly โ to actually enjoy it.
Because you don't need to love the gym.
You don't need to be naturally confident.
You don't need to be โfitโ before you start.
You need to be met where you're at.

What is it exactly that you do for yourself?
Giving and receiving are two essential parts of existing as a human.
Have too much of either, and you likely end up resentful or lost in your own head.
"balance" is a funny thing, and I'm not entirely sure it's even a thing in the reality of a ever changing life..
But perhaps "balance" doesn't need to mean that you spend 10 hours a week at a spa getting your butt rubbed
Often with our never-ending commitments, responsibilities and things we "have" to do -
There is rarely the time for this thing called "receiving" or self-care or whatever you feel good defining it as..
Practically all of my clients are women who have s**t to do.
And most of the problems created, mentally and physically, are when your body starts breaking down and losing it's capacity.
We rely entirely on our body to do the things in life.
It's our only connection with the world..
When it malfunctions, breaks, fails, falls into dysfunction, pain..
Everything else becomes hard.
it might be normal to completely ignore this
it might be normal for everything to just hurt when you get into your late 30s
but that doesn't mean it's natural.
that doesn't mean it's how it needs to be.
you're already over-consumed self doesn't need to follow some intensive burpee ridden youtube workout at 5am..
you don't need to stop eating chocolate and carbs and whatever else is "bad"
you don't need to start weighing yourself and obsessing about your body
(in fact, please don't)
you just need to start building strength
make your joints strong and resilient.
free them of pain..
build muscle mass to preserve your bone density (and the rest)
forgo the idea of it needing to be about radically transforming your body
it doesn't need to be so dramatic and intense for things to improve.

Posture, energy and strength - who doesnโt want those to be better?
Eva travels a lot so training has to be flexible & adaptable - it can still work, the approach just needs to be different.
Online coaching can be a great tool for people who are busy and have up and down routines. Giving you the freedom to do it when it works, not on a rigid timeframe.

Just start.
It doesnโt matter how far โgoneโ you are.
How much you feel youโve messed up.
How far you think youโve got to go.
How much work you think youโve got to do.
How badly you think youโre currently doing.
Just start.
Now.
Now.
Now.
Now.
Because that is ALL you can do.
And if you've been telling yourself you'll start when you've lost some weight, got fitter, got your eating under control, have more confidence, or finally feel โreadyโ...
You don't have to wait.
You're never too 'past' it to start.
I have spaces available starting September for 1:1 Personal Training..
Working with women who want to get stronger, feel better in their bodies and build something they can actually sustain, without the burpees, diets and nonsense..
If you've been thinking about starting, send me a message and we can have a chat!

Have you heard that voice in your head?
I'm sure you have
Or, maybe you think it's you?
Maybe you listen to it, agree with it, feel flattered by it..
Maybe it validates your poor decisions, excuses something you didn't need excusing,
Or maybe it beats you around, makes you feel useless, worthless..
Maybe it dictates your life?
The best scientific estimate is that we have approximately 6 thought transitions a minute - that's 6,200 different thoughts a day.
One of the biggest things I've noticed in clients who are consistent and those who aren't, is the ability to distinguish thoughts from reality.
The ability to recognise the thoughts of:
"This will never work"
"What's the point in even trying?"
"I'm s**t"
โGive up. Start again next week"
"Just wait until X is over, then you can get going properly"
โI'm tired"
โI don't like this feeling"
And to notice that they don't have to listen to them.
YES life gets in the way of being consistent with training and habits that make you feel good -
But really: You get in your own way the most.
Those thousands of thoughts in your head that you give a platform to - that you believe, listen to, obey, are ordered by.
What if you could just notice them and not be dictated by them?
What if you got to know yourself so well that you were no longer thrown around by the different feelings and problems and ideas that you constantly have?
What if you could have those thoughts and not live by their meaning?
What if you could be tired and still do it?
What if you could be feeling off and still do it?
What if you could know when to ignore that nagging voice and when to listen?
Consistency would be easy.
There would be no negotiating, no constant internal battle or conversation or tension to try to 'keep on it'...doesn't that sound way nicer?
No more loss of self trust - no more doubting.
But more freedom, self-confidence and all the other good bits in-between

3 years ago I ran a 70 mile ultramarathon up and down some big lumpy hills in rural Scotland -
For the first 10 days after that, I had no appetite and was really struggling to eat anything..
Which after 25 hours of running, definitely not eating enough.. wasn't ideal..
Subsequently, as well as the other myriad of things that happens to your body after a rather traumatic endeavour,
I felt like a shell of a human for about a month
But!
My appetite soon came back, and despite a stomach that felt half the size and feet that resembled that of a dried, dead fish;
I felt invigorated and so excited to be able to eat.. and more importantly - to WANT to eat
Food. Is. Great.
But it reminded me of something:
I've chatted with countless women, who want to get strong, build fitness, regain their inner confidence of their abilities..
But are entirely put off by the fact that if you train, your appetite increases.
Because food is BAD. Hunger is BAD.
Now -
It's ok to want to lose weight, for health, confidence, whatever someone's reasoning is..
BUT -
Training often causes an increase in appetite, because you're BREAKING YOUR BODY DOWN
.. and so it needs food, nutrients, the basic building blocks to build it back up, and allow it to get stronger.
Far too often, training is seen as an extra way to "burn calories"
And so when it comes to replenishing your body with the calories/energy you've lost..
it seems entirely RIDICULOUS.
If you've just worked so hard to shed them excess calories, why would you even
DARE listen to your body's hunger saying "please repair me"
Here's the thing -
You don't need to do things so intensely.
If you want to lose weight, great!
But it's a long-term, long-stretched process.
Countless analyses of all of the weight-loss methods EVER, have shown that basically
none of them work, except -
A moderate 100 calorie deficit a day. Which is nothing.
But - you continue to fuel your body, you continue to get stronger, fitter..
You don't feel like utter dogs**t because you're not feeding yourself..
You feel bloody amazing.
And overtime, the weight comes off anyway, your body composition changes, blah blah.
Keeping "weight loss" at the centre of your decisions often results in very backwards results.
Aka - you never get what you want.
Focus on looking after yourself,
Fuelling yourself well, with a varied, colourful diet (WITH CARBS)
Rest when you need to, look at the sky, the stars, breathe
Train hard, efficiently, appropriately, make sure you keep progressing each week
Don't berate yourself for not being perfect, for you never will be.
And all good things come from there, the body, all else - will follow a heartfelt
intention to look after yourself.
Rather than continue to punish..
