Finally the footbridge at Westferry Cascades is open.

Update: Westferry/Cascades footbridge.
Canal & River Trust works are due to start on 25th October 2023. The full programme may slip a few days depending on what they find. Expected completion in mid November.

News re: Footbridge at Westferry/Cascades. The Canal & River Trust have agreed their budget and are in the process of scheduling the works.

On Monday, I had a good strategy meeting with Assembly Member Unmesh Desai, who backs our campaign to re-build the Thames Path. Unmesh wants to arrange a site visit with the advisors to the Mayor. Primarily that would be Seb Dance, the Deputy Mayor for transport, and also Will Norman, the Cycling/Walking Commissioner. Further to this, Unmesh will ask a series of questions to the Mayors, in the hope of putting the campaign on the agenda....

Fantastic news: water voles are being reintroduced to the Hogsmill river in Kingston.

The work to monitor their progress will be funded by a grant from my Rewild London Fund.

I know Londoners want to see nature thriving in our city. It’s just one of 19 rewilding projects I’m funding this year to improve biodiversity in our capital.
