Mobility - What Is It? Do we need mobility training? Can we really make a significant change?
We’re back again this Friday for our Lunch and Learn through No1 Fitness Education
After a super successful first workshop on the Foam Roller, we are now excited to announce this week's workshop.
This weeks topic. 👉🏽 "Mobility"
Mobility is a word that is often thrown around in the fitness industry, but what does this actually mean?
In this workshop we will cover:
- What is the difference between Flexibility and Mobility?
- We show you how to build the bridge safely and effectively
to move well in everything you do
- How mobility improves performance
- How mobility increases resilience to injury
- How the body is all connected
- How to build 3Dimenional Mobility and Stability in the foot/ankle, hips, the S.I joints in the Thoracic and Cervical spines
This leads us nicely onto our next two workshops which would move into 3Dimensional Global Movements, which is perfect considering we are training at home without the use of equipment.
This workshop will be on Friday 1st May 2020 at 1pm
The workshop costs £7.50 and is available to everyone.

It’s that time of year again, and🎅🏽 is round the cornerrr!
If you’re still hitting the gym 🙌🏽 but the Christmas parties have started to take over, then just ensure to avoid possible injury, you’re staying hydrated, have rested properly and as the wall behind me says - You’re moving well!
Keep the form as a focus.
: When you’re hitting those pulling movements this week, keep the back in ‘neutral’ and avoid any sort of rotation to avoid injury.
Stay Fit whilst you’re getting festive! 🎄 🎅🏽

Tensions High...Sometimes.
Working on trunk strength and stability in some way should always have a place in your gym programming.
Trainer Tip on the Side plank band pull.
* Ensure shoulders are directly over Elbows. ✅
* Raise hips to keep spine aligned. ✅
* Squeeze glutes, squeeze heels to engage adductors. ✅
* Create tension through the core. ✅
* And remember to breath. ✅
It’s time to remove all barriers, to enable better health! ✌🏾

Happy 10th Birthday 🎉
Reflecting back and wondering how 10 years has flown by, It’s crazy to think. We opened the first gym in 2009, barely out of puberty and not much more than a passion to help more people create healthier habits and lifestyles, and hopefully change the way fitness was being offered here in London.
It’s certainly been a ride and we are proud to still have some of you clients coming today, thank you!
Here’s 10 things I’ve personally learnt as we’ve built the No1 Fitness business, brand and community to continue to serve people today!
1. Understand your values and stay true to them throughout.
2. Good company culture isn’t found in a book, astro turf in the office or free buscuit tin, find good people and you’ll find good culture.
3. Speak to your clients, understand their pain points and work hard to try fix them, with them.
4. Trust your gut - Sense check it, but trust it.
5. Take extra time for the smaller details, the time will be worth it.
6. Meetings are for decisions, not just discussions.
7. Take care of yourself, your health is the most important thing.
8. Don’t follow the herd, but keep watch of what they’re doing.
9. Stay curious, stay learning and above all stay open minded.
And lastly (to steal the first part from a good friend) which probably goes for all reading this with any goal, task, training or business in sight….
10. Just get fu***ng started - And make sure you finish it!
