Thames Barbarians Pilot Gig Club

Saturday Club row was followed by a Club Meet Up for a tour of Gravesend guided by Ingrid… started with a visit to the Sikh Gurdwara (built in 2002 and the largest in Europe), followed by a climb up Windmill Hill (stopping of course at the Windmill Pub) with a view up to Canary Wharf and down to the estuary.
We learned that the Gravesham Town mosaic inspired Edward Lear’s Owl and the Pussycat, while he was waiting for his Dad outside the Gravesend debtors prison.

Thank you so much to Newhaven Gig Rowing Club - Sussex Lewes pilot gig club and Affinity Rowing Club for a spectacular day at Seaford Regatta yesterday.

Great to meet old friends, make new ones, race hard and come second in our category. Lovely to have guest rowers from London Cornish Pilot Gig Club in our boat (apologies for the sweary coxing!) Fantastic amount of cake consumed alongside it all. A brilliant day and it’s going on the rowing calendar for next year already.

Thank you London Cornish Pilot Gig Club for a great regatta on Saturday - lovely weather, great company, fun racing, scrumptious food, refreshing beer... And Thames Barbarians came away with the regatta trophy. Well done squad... nice work ❤
