Motivation or discipline? 🤷🏽‍♂️

👉🏽I lost count how many times I’ve seen a post about this...everyone seems to be posting the same conundrum. But maybe there’s a reason for that?

👉🏽I have to say, I’ve struggled with motivation in recent times...it’s been a tough year for most, and it compounds all the emotions and drags you away from feeling any motivation, to do anything! It almost sapped the life from me and paralysed me...

👉🏽But is this a motivation issue? Because I actually wanted to make progress! So I had the motivation! This is a DISCIPLINE issue...

👉🏽We all talk about motivation this and motivation that...yet it’s the action, before motivation that makes you get s**t done whether you feel like it or not! The self discipline and habits we create is what gets us places...

👉🏽So a lesson for today, from now on saying your don’t have the motivation will be classed as excuse...you lack the discipline, not the motivation...

👉🏽Shake s**t up, change your habits and watch yourself fly 💫

A note to yourselves: don’t leave any stone unturned, don’t let anyone tell you that you cannot do something and don’t ever talk down to yourself. Can you do that? You don’t need that negative s**t in your life if your wanting to make positive changes! You are worth every second on this earth. Commit to yourself and love yourself unconditionally 🙏🏽

The good news, is that I have managed to get my a CrossFit sessions in everyday along with other training. The days just fly by and I never seem to know what day of the week it is anymore!

All this CrossFit and training needs some serious recovery time...I’ve said it before! Never underestimate the power of stretching and recovery! 🧘‍♀️

👉🏽 A day at beach for me starts best with 5 mins of stretching. Not only does it help my recovery, but also clears the mind 🔥

ROUTINE:
✔️Pigeon Stretch
✔️Kneeling Quad Stretch
✔️Kneeling Calf Stretch
✔️Seated Hamstring Stretch
✔️Preacher Stretch

30 seconds for each stretch, trying to increase the range of motion as the time progresses 🔥

Who the hell wants to stretch anyway?! 🧘‍♀️

👉🏽 Ermm we all should...! Stretching might not be fun, enjoyable, glamorous or hardcore for many. But it’s important to do it. If you can’t do it everyday then do it every other day, or post workout. It only takes 5/10 minutes of your time but it will be worth a million times that for your recovery, progression and results.

👉🏽 Keeping those muscles and joints flexible and lengthened will aid recovery and performance, reduce muscle soreness and stiffness. So it’s most definitely worth it!

If your unsure about how to stretch or what stretches to choose, then fear not! As I have a full body stretching video coming at you tomorrow 🔥 you’ll all be yogis before you know it 😂

How amazing is this weather? Long may it continue! ☀️

Smash out a solid CrossFit session this morning. Power snatches and handstand shoulder presses, absolutely loving it!!

As good as this weather is and I know you are a bunch of well educated folk, however I want to press home the importance of staying hydrated. Staying hydrated is important anyway if your an avid athlete, as it will replace lost fluid through sweat and perspiration. Put a heat wave on top of that and the need becomes so much more important. 💦

The best tip I have for this:
✅ Buy a 1.5/2 litre bottle of water and keep it full and with you at ALL times! I carry a bottle with me everywhere...not only is it good practice but I find that if I have it next to me, I will pick it up and drink without thinking 💦

👉🏽 I can’t tell you what a massive sense of achievement it is when you finish a CrossFit session! Maybe because it’s such a stark contrast to the way I usually train? A different stimulus and intensity and I’m loving it! I never thought I would say that! 😂

👉🏽Moral of today’s post?
1) It’s never too late to start something new
2) Don’t knock it until you have tried it!
3) Keep your body guessing!
4) Never be afraid to try something new!

What’s your ‘go-to’ workout?

👉🏽For me, believe it or not...is running! As you can see by the first and second photo I always look better before my run!🏃‍♂️

👉🏽If I feel a little under the weather, my mood is low or I just fell off the train for a while...I always seem to go running! I think this might go back to my Military days, when every form of exercise we did seem to invoked running... 😒 so I built a love/hate relationship with it ever since!

👉🏽The point is...we all have had days. We all sometimes feel we can’t be bothered. But if you have a ‘go-to’ workout or exercise that you can just get on with, with little thought...then that’s better than nothing right? I need reminding myself of this too once in a while...

👉🏽So whether that’s running, cycling, walking or push ups! If you feel under the weather and don’t feel like doing much, at least get out an smash your ‘go-to’ workout! You’ll be thankful you did

Welcome! This is my Online Coaching page where I share all the tricks and tips you'll need to gain lean muscle and shred body fat. Whether your looking to lean down or bulk up, I got you covered!

I have been in the fitness game for 13 years and have been qualified as a Personal Trainer and Nutritional Coach since 2014. I was lucky enough to train with one of the most respected training providers in the world. During my training, I lived alongside a Team GB Olympic Squad which allowed me to learn so much in terms of high level performance training.

My story started when I was 16. I was a skinny teenager, but I always so focussed from such a young age. I dreamed of having an impressive physique, but it seemed such a mammoth task! I was in the process of joining the Royal Marines and it wasn't until I went through basic training that I realised it is only the mind that stops us from achieving. After I left the military, I threw myself into my passion of fitness and relentlessly pursued physical greatness. A path which I still endure today.

My past experiences in the military and also working as a Prison Officer in the UK, have set me up incredibly as a Personal Trainer. I am not only able to help people develop the physique of their dreams, but I am able to help clients develop a strong and winning mindset.
