Shameful performance. I really hope this game lives rent free in every one of those players’ heads over the international break, because I know it certainly will for every Chelsea fan.

We are missing some massive cogs in this team. Pedro, Caicedo, Palestra and James. Hopefully this break gives us the chance to get some bodies fit and back into the side.

I’m not blaming Alonso for this result. We’re 2-0 down and he’s having to turn to a 16-year-old from the bench. What exactly is he supposed to do?

The first goal is absolutely shocking. Fofana leaves his man completely free to head the ball in. That isn’t Alonso, that’s a CB simply not doing his job. All game you could see Wes backing away from players instead of getting out and pressing them. It was awful, and that’s why he got taken off.

Then you’ve got Lacroix as the last man in a high line. Instead of dropping towards the runner, he tries to step up and play offside ON THE HALFWAY LINE! Just take three or four steps backwards and you give yourself a chance of stopping him. This is exactly why I don’t like Lacroix in the central position. He doesn’t see those runs coming in from the side.

And the set pieces… something has to change.

We’ve brought in a set piece coach, but if anything the players look more confused. Whatever he is asking them to do clearly isn’t working. We’ve conceded 13 goals in five games. Nearly THREE GOALS A GAME. It’s fu***ng embarrassing.

Either sit these players down and drill it into them until every single one knows exactly where they need to be, who they’re marking and what their job is, or change it. We cannot keep conceding goals through basic marking and positioning.

I’m going to say it now. If we don’t fix that midfield in January, we will struggle to finish in the top six.

Caicedo is massive for us and getting him back will make a huge difference, but he cannot fix everything. The goals will keep going in if the players don’t improve defensively, especially from set pieces.

The owners reflected in the summer. Well, guess what? It’s time to reflect again.

We need TWO new CBs and a proper top quality CM. Ideally someone tall, physical, strong on the ball, who can pick a pass and dictate a game.

I like Barco, but for me he’s far too small and lightweight for what we need in there right now. We’re getting bullied in the middle of the park and we need someone who can physically take control of games.

Pep also made some really poor decisions yesterday. He has to do better. When you’re chasing a game, you cannot waste opportunities like that. You shoot from there when you’re 3-0 UP, not when you desperately need a goal back.

This international break has come at the perfect time. Get players fit, sort the defending out, work on the set pieces and come back with a response.

Because 13 goals conceded in five games simply isn’t acceptable.

Alonso clearly wants to continue with the back three, but with Colwill struggling to adapt to playing LCB, I can't see us fixing the goals we're conceding without moving things around.

For me, the answer until Palestra is fully fit is to accommodate Levi by playing him as the central centre-back.

We know Lacroix is currently playing centrally because his recovery pace gives us protection against balls over the top. But once Palestra is back, Alonso has more options. He can move Hato deeper into the LCB position, shift Lacroix across to the right and give the whole system much better balance.

At the moment, nearly all of our attacking threat comes down the right. Neto, Palmer and Estêvão are constantly creating danger on that side, whereas Rogers naturally wants to come inside from the left. That leaves huge amounts of space behind him and makes us vulnerable to long balls and counter-attacks down our left.

That's where Palestra could make a massive difference. He'll hold the width, give us a genuine attacking threat down that side and force the opposition winger/full-back to think twice about pushing forward. For me, a lot of our defensive problems are actually coming from the lack of attacking balance between the two sides.

Getting Caicedo back into midfield will definitely help stop some of the silly goals we're conceding, but Caicedo alone isn't going to fix everything. We need balance.

Hato isn't a natural LB/LWB, while Pep is clearly still adapting to the Premier League. Hopefully, after the international break we'll finally have the majority of the squad fit and available, and we'll get a proper chance to see what this team and system can actually do.

We look fu***ng terrible . Achampong,Gusto and Welbeck ,Watson all need to come off.

Alonso needs to scrap this back 3 s**t and go to a back 4 . We need to get an extra player up the field . 3 at the back has not worked all season and it won’t work with players like Gusto and Achampong. Both players really struggle to play in this system.

I fu***ng hate losing to Arsenal! 😡 It feels like a broken record at the minute.

And whose bloody idea was it to sell Havertz to them?! Whoever signed that off needs their head checking! 😡

I am holding onto one little omen though… the last time we won the league, we were outplayed at the Emirates and we were out of Europe. 👀💙

In the grand scheme of things, this game has probably come too early in the season to really mean anything. But losing to Arsenal still fu***ng hurts! The game at the Bridge in March will be a much more interesting test of where both teams are.

My assessment of the team right now is that we still look unbalanced, particularly in midfield. Lavia had a good game, but for me he isn’t the answer on his own. We need a proper level-up in that area and I think a big name has to come in January.

Fofana at LCB didn’t work for me either. I would much rather have seen us go with a back four and start Gusto at RB.

I also thought Pep dealt with Saka much better when he came on. I don’t really understand why he isn’t starting yet because every time I’ve watched him, he’s looked good.

The big thing now is getting Caicedo and Palestra fit and back into this team. Once they’re both available, we’ll have a much better idea of where we really are.

I’ll send out the player ratings once I’ve watched the game again because it wasn’t all bad. There were positives, but there are definitely a few things that need changing.

If we’re going to continue with three at the back, we have to find a much better balance, especially in these big games.
