Congratulations to Musn Hannah Griffin who has successfully passed the Career Employment Qualification Level 2 (CEQ2) with a Distinction.
The CEQ is a formal military qualification that assesses a musician’s professional performance standard through a solo recital, programme notes, viva voce, and quick study (sight-reading) exercise.
Highlights of her programme included Gershwin’s Three Preludes, Philip Sparke’s Concerto for Trumpet or Cornet, and Glazunov’s Albumblatt, each demonstrating a range of stylistic awareness and technical control.
Reflecting on her programme, Hannah said: “I really enjoyed the analysis of the Gershwin, and it was exciting to explore the jazz styles. It was also fun to explore Philip Sparke’s solo repertoire as I’ve played a lot of his concert band and brass band music. It was a good technical challenge, especially the Glazunov, and I’m already picking out repertoire for my CEQ1.”
Congratulations to Musn Griffin on this excellent achievement!
