Well done Chris Kavanagh 👍🏻

Just in case anyone tries to tell you that the red card made no difference to Liverpool's clash against Manchester City, you can show them this. According to xG Philosophy, Liverpool had over five times the amount of expected goals before Gravenberch was harshly dismissed. The difference was as clear as day on the pitch, we couldn't press anymore and we didn't have the players to double up on Doku.

All because of one abysmal decision!

Do anyone else see a pattern? 🧐

When it comes to Liverpool and Manchester City, there always seems to be a controversial decision that goes the way of the state-backed club. Take Doku's high foot on Mac Allister, which played no small part in the title race that season. Or both decisions from last campaign, when Van Dijk's goal was ruled out and Guehi was only given a yellow card for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. The referees in the Premier League are wildly incompetent, but this is a concerning series of coincidences.

Bought and paid for 💸

They just can't help it can they, Premier League referees always have to be front and centre. Chris Kavanaugh single-handedly torpedoed an electric encounter at Anfield after sending Gravenberch off for an incredibly harsh second yellow card, just moments after ignoring Guehi's blatant holding of Koumas. It would have been his second, if Kavanaugh had the awareness to book the defender for handling the ball in the opening minutes.

Shame on you Kavanaugh!

Our lineup against City!

As expected, no Isak or Gakpo, but Liverpool lineup with Barcola, Muñoz and Koumas up front. Gravenberch comes in for Szoboszlai while the defence is unchanged.

Time to shine 🌟

Today is the day when the new generation of Liverpool players can write themselves into Anfield folklore. With Isak and Gakpo sidelined, we will need the likes of Barcola, Wirtz and Muñoz to step up to the occasion. Anfield will be angry, our players will be hungry, the time is now.

Come on Reds!

Koumas is ready 💪🏻

As Liverpool prepare to take on Manchester City without a natural centre forward, Koumas could be in line to make his full Premier League debut at Anfield. Apart from Isak, he is the only other player who has played down the middle, in the league cup victory against Spurs, so he could be in line to replace the Swede. It will be a challenge to make up for Isak's finishing, but Koumas would definitely bring pressing intensity and physicality.

Do you agree with these picks? 👀

With just over 24 hours to go before Liverpool clash with Manchester City in a fiery atmosphere at Anfield, it's time to see how players from both teams have performed in the Premier League so far.

The Liverpool back line have been superb this season, picking up three consecutive clean sheets in the league, so it's no surprise that only Gvardiol joins Alisson, Van Dijk, Jacquet and Araujo in defence. The same can't be said for the Reds in midfield, with Anderson, Cherki and Semenyo comfortably outperforming most of them so far this season. Gakpo is a shoe-in with his dazzling form up front. Up top, it had to be Haaland and Isak, who have nine goals between them in the league.

Who will be our striker on Sunday? 🤔

Liverpool will take on Manchester City without a natural centre forward after Iraola ruled out both Gakpo and Isak earlier today. It is a cruel twist of fate which will have the gaffer scratching his head, because Ekitike is the only other senior striker and his is sidelined until the new year. Will Iraola pick Wirtz as a false nine? Or Koumas as the press trigger? Maybe he will choose a winger through the middle to add pace and trickery up front?

Jacquet will play against Manchester City 👊🏽

Speaking ahead of Liverpool's Anfield showdown against City, Iraola has confirmed that Jacquet is fit to play. The gaffer confirmed that the Frenchman is "fit and ready to go" despite suffering a minor hamstring strain while on international duty with France. This is huge news, as the partnership between Van Dijk and Jacquet will be the key to starving Haaland of any chances in the box.

Let's go Jeremy!

The MG predicted lineup against City 🔮

Premier League football returns to Anfield this Sunday, as Liverpool take on Manchester City for the first time since the state-backed club's guilty verdict. It is a huge game for the league and for the fans, the stakes could not be higher. Iraola will want to go full strength, which could mean risking Jacquet and Isak. Barcola and Muñoz are strong contenders to start on the wings, and we should see the gaffer's preferred midfield trio of Wirtz, Mac Allister and Szoboszlai.
