Sink the hips to the earth in this pose to connect to your first chakra, Muladhara. Visualise a bright red circle of light at the bottom of your spine to connect to the earth for grounding and feelings of safety security in our lives.

Today we explored Goddess Pose (horse stance) or Utkata Konasana, a powerful and versatile pose that allows us all to connect to our feminine power and connect to our root & sacral chakras for grounding and creativity!

Divine & Nurturing ✨
Working our bodies into Gomukhasana in tonight’s class! 🐮
Cow Face Pose, symbolises the scared feminine, calm, selfless, kind. Akin to Mother Nature, who ran away and turned herself into a cow to escape the constant pillaging from Vena, a power hungry ruler who was destroying the world.

The earth became dry and barren without Mother Natures energy, and the court sages devised a plan to kill and destroy Vena.
✨
Mother Nature returned to replenish the earth, providing unconditional love and nurture to all of her children once again.
✨
The cow is a sacred animal in India, a great personification of Earth and motherhood, nurturing, cherishing and providing.

A glimpse of sunshine and all is well ☀️ We’ve been working on our sacral chakra this week, opening to endless creativity, self expression and pure pleasure. If this feels like the opposite to how you’re feeling, get silly, dance and move, expand and release that energy from just below your belly button!
The Sanskrit name for the 2nd chakra is Svadhisthana meaning one’s own sweet place….🧡

A token offering after we graduated from yoga training in India. The bright yellow marigolds symbolise the sun, goodness, positivity and the light that lives inside a person.
These garlands are offered to the Hindu Gods Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi as a symbol of love, which is why they are traditionally offered at weddings. How beautiful! They smell amazing too.
I’ve sent a few of these garlands into the ocean and rivers over the years, setting intentions to be carried along with the flow 🤍
