Kiwi FC Match Report – 05 April
Kiwi FC 5 - 1 Junction Elite FC
Man of the Match – Nick Sudmann
Evans Memorial Playing Fields

A perfect blue sky stretched over Evans Memorial Playing Fields – the kind of day that’s made for cup semi-final football. Not a cloud in sight as 20 eager Kiwi battlers strolled through the gates, boots in hand, minds locked in. Last year’s final still fresh in the memory. A full squad. A full bench. A full send incoming.

The Junction Elite clearly meant business too – the drone in the sky early doors for the content – but Kiwi were all business. Captain Collier expertly delegating warm-up duties to Big John, who didn’t disappoint. Izzy setting the tone early in the full button up warm up kit. Lads were ready.

The game started fast and within the first minute, Junction Elite broke down the right, slinging in a dangerous cross that was nodded just over the bar. An early scare for Kiwi, but a polite word between Mooch and Big John steadied the ship – calm heads. Then it began.

Just four minutes in, Xavi picked up a loose ball in midfield and surged forward, slipping it into T. Sudmann who let it roll through his legs to N. Sudmann, before peeling and running in behind. N.Sudmann turned and slipped the ball in front of T. Sudmann. There were Sudmann’s everywhere bamboozling the junction defence. Tim latched on and slid it past the keeper into the bottom corner. 1-0 Kiwi.

From there, Kiwi began to assert themselves. Crisp passing, hard tackles, and a defensive line that looked like they’d all eaten their Weetabix.

By the 14th minute, the PTSD set in for Junction as after some good defence, the ball broke to Nick in midfield. He spotted Tim in space and the roles reversed. A one-two between the brothers had Junction spinning like they'd stepped into a family WhatsApp group. Nick found himself through on goal, cool as you like, placed his foot on the ball and scooped it over the keeper. A finish that had even their 7-foot CB questioning his life choices. 2-0 Kiwi.

Against the run of play, Junction managed to sneak down the left wing, sending in a cross that was only half cleared. It dropped to their left winger at the back post who took it on his chest and volleyed home. A tidy finish. 2-1. Game on.

Lesser teams might have felt the wobble. Not Kiwi. Heads stayed up, passes kept crisp and minutes before the break, the pressure paid off again. A loose back pass was pounced on by Nick, who rounded the keeper and tapped home to restore the two-goal cushion. 3-1 Kiwi at the half.

The kiwis came in for some half time lollies, quick sunblock top up for the pasty brothers and a word from the Gaff. Jobs not done was the message from the break as the determined kiwis headed back out for the second half.

The second half brought more of the same. Kiwi dominated the ball, controlled the tempo, and suffocated any attempt at a Junction comeback. Tempers on the sidelines started bubbling over, with the Junction Elite supporters letting their frustration be known. Rori risking it all for a chirp, as the Junction mandem threatened to get the knife out. All talk. Game continued.

Just as it seemed the show was over, Ra burst through midfield, threading a pass through to Nick. A save, a bobble, a dodgy clearance, Blakey’s boot in the mix, and finally the ball landed back to Nick – who made no mistake. Hat-trick secured. Junction defence in tatters. 4-1 Kiwi. Limbs.

In stoppage time, Ra again drove into the box, putting the fullback in a blender before he was lightly breathed on. A blatant foul as Ra came crashing down and the penalty was given. Captain Collier stepped up, smashed it home, and sealed the deal. 5-1. A statement win.

Full-time whistle.

Scenes as the Kiwi march into back-to-back finals with a dominant display, setting the stage for a classic on May 17th.

The day was rounded out by a wholesome beer them and a few jars in the sunshine.

BRING ON THE CUP FINAL.

Match Report:

4-1 Kiwi FC v RPFC London FC
12/10/2024, Griffin Sports Ground.

MOM: Levi (The Highlight Reel) Clark

Just like that another Saturday had come around, the boys were well rested from the night before after indulging in only Tim Tams and Milo’s. Kiwi FC were looking to bounce back from 2 defeats on the trot and what better place to do it than on the carpet that is Griffin Sports park.

Once again gaffer had us set up in a 3-5-2 formation as the first whistle went. The Kiwi lads started strong, holding on to the ball and playing some attractive football.

As the half wore on Kiwi FC continued to dominate with the ball and the breakthrough finally came when Richmond’s keeper played a nice ball straight into Blakeys path, and he slotted the ball into an empty net. With not long to go until the half time whistle went, momentum was still with the boys from down under but another goal was definitely needed as Kiwi FC could have been 2 or 3 goals to the good. The break through came just in time as Raheem latched onto a loose ball in the box and cooly finished.

Words were said at half time along the lines of the next goal is important and the boys walked back onto the pitch unchanged. Richmond made a couple of changes on both wings and started clawing their way back into the game. Henry knew the next goal was key and found himself almost at the by line, ball at feet, keeper off his line and decided crossing the ball was the wrong option. His wand of a left striking the ball to beat the keeper at near post. 3-0 Kiwi!

With the scoreline feeling more secure Kiwi FC continued playing champagne footy. After Levi’s highlight reel on instagram had been found by a few of the boys the previous night, he decided it was time to the boys what he could do. Picking the ball up near the sideline, jinking this way then that, venturing to the edge of the box he opened up the body and leathered the ball top bins.

Reinforcements were brought in and the game continued, near the end of the half Richmond managed to pull one back after an unfortunate deflection. It was too little too late though and the final whistle blew. The boys stoked with a convincing win head into the showers, beer theme was done and the team went into the clubrooms for a few well earned pints and fine session!

Kiwi FC will look to build on the result next week and keep climbing the ladder!

***MATCH REPORT****

Match Summary: 2-0 Win v London Hibernian
Date: 14th of September 2024
Location: Wimbledon Common Extensions Pitch 6
Competition: Wimbledon District Premier League
MOM: Sam Collier

So after many a Saturday apart after Cup Final day the football season has returned. Football was back, the sun was out and most importantly Kiwi FC were in the mood to start the season with 3 points. A couple of training sessions and a pre season game later had helped the boys in preparation and it was all systems go.

The boys trickled in to Wimbledon Common for a 12 a clock meet. The majority were on time and the majority also appeared and “claimed” to be fresh so the boys were fresh, not fit and raring to go. Multiple debutants were in to freshen up the squad and Fionn gave us some wise words around the shape, tactics and attitude needed for the fixture. Gaffer had us in a 3-5-2 and the overall summary was be up for it, move the ball around the back and pick our moments to move the ball forward, don’t rush it if it’s not on and we’ve got good subs if you get tired later on.

The game started with not too much flow as lots of scrapping for second phase happened and neither team really got the ball down for the first 10 minutes. After this period KIWI FC started to go through the gears and get their passing rhythm and opportunities started to arise in which Hunter, Brunton and Collier were central to. Collier was smartly saved at the near post after a slick passing team move. Hibernian were starting to be forced into their own half as KIWI FC started to open them up. Collier and Brunton linked up well in the final third and then a fortunate richocet allowed the ball to stay in Colliers path and he slapped 1 home to send the boys into the lead. After this the boys had control of the fixture. Curwen, Randle and Hogan were circulating the ball well and winning their duels. Lenihal-Geels and Manaton were providing good width and Geyde and Plant rolled back the Barclays days as KIWI FCs Crouch and Defoe were holding the ball up well and also causing issues in behind. On this momentum a free kick was right on the edge of the box after Plant was released and their keeper completely flattened him and somehow didn’t see a card. Collier stepped up wrong footed the keeper as Collier shot on the side showing as the keeper moved towards his wall side and the boys were 2 to the good. Not too much happened for the rest of the half and the boys went into the sheds with a 2 nil lead.

Half time messages were more of the same, a couple of things around making sure the ball stuck up top and making sure one of the back three picked up their no9 who drifted into the pocket. A couple of messages that 2 nil is an awkward lead (trust me I know) so we start well and we should go on to win comfortably.

The second half started and the game had definitely lost its sting a little. There were some good passages of play but the fitness levels were starting to be tested as some tired legs were becoming apparent. There were some chances being created despite the circumstances and their keeper was by far their best player and was keeping the score down. It was time for subs as Maxey-Graham came on for Brunton in midfield who helped us with legs and control in the middle, Acarpi came on for Lenihal-Geels to offer some legs in that wing back position. The lads made a difference and after a good passing move Plant slapped one into the foot of the post from distance which would have been a great goal for the Mrs to see on debut…. Stewart came on for Plant late on who did well to help with depleting energy levels with his running in behind. In terms of Hibernians impact they weren’t offering a lot. A hopeful cry of “4 4 fu***ng 2” was attempted and many of their players were cheating and staying high, the odd long throw here and there had to be dealt with but they offered very little. The game petered out and job was done. 3 points on the board. Onto the next

Good performances from all, but a big shout to all debutants yesterday. You all played class and leaves us in good stead going forward. This includes our gaff Fionn, 1 game 1 win a clean sheet on debut.

The boys went into the changing rooms, a few crys of my body is fu**ed, some hearty blisters and im unfit were complimented with beer theme and the boys were off into Ubers to The Railway in Putney for after match celebrations. Debutants were being initiated with beers and Tabasco shots. New fine master Plant got his black book out for fines which meant Curwen has to find a new joke. We learnt that KIWI FC has a few more finance wa**ers and the boys settled in to watch the Aston Villa Everton which no more needs to be said about.

All in all a great day out, a great start and 3 fu***ng points.

Viva the fu***ng Kiwi 🥝

Stoke Travel Match Report:

Wimbledon Trophy
Opponent: Royal Wells
Location: Carshalton Athletic
Result: 4 -1 Kiwi

The one we had all been waiting for…last game of the season, finals footy, the Wimbledon Trophy.

The day started with a scare, after the leadership team boldly decided to name a squad with one keeper, Money Man turns up at Balham station with his knee wrapped up. He felt something on Thursday but should be fine, the mummy’s bandage of a knee merely a precaution. The lads bark at him to get that s**t off immediately. He obliges. Panic over.

The boys gather at Carshalton, relaxing pitch side, vapes and ciggies in hand, any prematch nerves settled by the ni****ne and the distraction of the gaffer doing his best finance wa**er impression. Full suit on, as promised. Here we go lads…

We get into the warm up, Royal Wells have already been out for 30 mins stretching and passing in a square. Professional outfit or over excited? Time will tell. A quick 35 mins loosening up will do it for us, capped off with some finishing, Salmon goes 3 for 3 leaving us wondering where his true calling lies. Back to the shed for a quick rev up, the kiwi faithful have flooded in, beers already in hand. Here we go for real. Show time…

The boys start on the front foot, pressing high and unsettling Royal Wells, Blake and Cahill-Fleury not letting them play. We start to zip it about and Blakey gets released down the right channel, he drives to the edge of the box and smashes one across the keeper into the net. The fans & bench erupt, 1-0, advantage kiwi.

Royal wells pick one back after the geriatric, mr chatty, traveller of NZ linesman fails to spot a clear foul at the back post. The match intensifies. Kiwi controlling again and Sudmann is fed an inviting pass into the top left edge of the box, he curls one over the keeper. 2-1!

Kiwi continue to dominate, Randle drives through the middle, we hold our breath, he breezes through the first line and ricochets through the second to get his shot off, the keeper parry’s into the centre of the box, we hold our breath again, and Sudmann is on the spot to poke it home. The crowd light up like Eden park on a Saturday night. 3-1 kiwi.

The first half ends with an extremely contentious foul by Royal Wells centre back following a shin high bobsled tackle. No red card, but momentary red mist for Randle as he hammers his right boot over the kiwi dugout and into the stand.

Back we go to the shed for a required 15min half time break. The geriatric officials crew are feeling the pace. The lads are eager to get back out on the pitch and have a good 5 min wait for Royal Wells and the officials. Are they rejuvenated for a big push in the second half…

…No they are not, Royal Wells players are cramping not long after half time, the one and a half hour warm up taking its toll. Their subs join the game. We lose a soldier of our own with Cahill-Fleury pulling a hammy. Up steps the co-commander of the 7am club Horne who with his first touch out jumps Goliath at the far post and headers it in! 4-1 kiwi

The game peters along, but the atmosphere ramps up as the fans now sufficiently boozed join in a chorus of kiwi chants, sensing a famous victory approaching. “Give us a wave , give us a wave…” he does. Never too busy. Pump fake Blake megs their centre back for the third time today “Ole”

Time for the some subs. Sudmann , Plant and Mouncher join the field. Each players entry raucously cheered by the kiwi faithful. Club secretary Ryan leaves the pitch for the last time in a kiwi shirt. A legend of the club. The gaff has one more sub up his sleeve, Salmon up top. Erections and stiff nips from the crowd can be seen all the way from tooting.

And tooting we are coming for you, the final whistle blows, Kiwi win the Wimbledon Trophy! The Kiwi theme song rings out across Carshalton, “KFC ARE HAVING A PARTY, BRING THE VODKA AND THE CHARLIE”

And bring the charlie they did…not long after the trophy was lifted and Collier named MOTM, the boys are back in the shed spraying champagne. Needless to say the post match tuna and ham rolls were not well consumed, but the beers and binos flowed at Carshalton and into the night back at the Wheatsheaf in Tooting. The outdoor area and men’s cubicle completely overrun with kiwi players and fans alike.

Proceedings continued in Stockwell, hosted by no other than the 7am club co-commanders. I’m told Seb was declined at 4am by a luscious blond he’d been on his knees for earlier that night, no sticking one in the goal this time. No doubt the Ket was causing Plant to wobble about. Beers skulled from the trophy as the sun rises and settles into the Sunday sky

What a day, what a feeling, Kiwi FC sprinkled some kiwi magic and won the Wimbledon Trophy 🏆⚽️

Stay tuned for post season celebrations…

MATCH REPORT

20th of April, the birth of hi**er, the batltle of Asenberg, the first pasteurisation test. The date is set in stone with critical events in history that will never be forgotten. The history books write down the memory of the past, and now kiwi fc have solidified themselves on the pages read by future generations.

On this day, trains were manic, lads were late but in the end the desire to win and succeed was as large as the Sudmans instagram account. The lads started with a bang, Manatons missus was there with the promise of a grandstand but he was determined to make her proud either way. Liam Manaton aka forest gump ran and ran and kicked the soccer ball really hard winning him the man of the match. The first goal came when Brett, the man with the biggest support slotted it. The beautiful tron ladies couldn’t contain themselves. The second goal came when Ruairi aka biggest nob in the team slotted a cheeky one to lead the hard effort of the lads.
Half time hit and then Andy Blake, after doing sweet f**k all in the first half, the Scottish professional was popping off showing the lads exactly why he was professional. Not only did the lads think he was an absolute player, but gaffa was rubbing his hands together the whole game like the sudmans after they post day 72 of 18 hole par challenge.
The third goal came by the opposition when last nights beers hit the lads all at once, but with psycho Wade at the helm, the lads snapped back into action and before you know it the Scottish pro was slotting his first.
Brett’s fan base couldn’t believe what they were witnessing and the ex waibop professional gave the ladies a wink. 3-1 up and the lads were feeling confident. The super sub, Rodders came on, the man too good for any lady. Even though confidence was high, rodders couldn’t believe it when the ball left his foot, destined for the net, 4-1 and max fine. Rodders expertly chippped the keeper from 30
Yards out. 5-1 came when Andy Blake went super saiyan and decided to have one more crack almost from almost halfway, striking the ball first time and once again catching the keeper off
His line. As John the teacher pointed at his black board and celebrated as that’s the exact way he drew it out to the kiddies.
All in all, successful day, special mention to Liam Williams who endured s**t chat all day by the lads. FINALS FOOTY BABY LETS GO

KFC Move into the cup final in a few weeks time. The team haven’t won a trophy in number of years.
Bring your girlfriends, bring your flatmates, bring a hinge date.. By god, bring anyone who claims to be a kiwi as this will be an epic encounter and the boys will need all the support they can get in order to win some silverware!!!

Kiwi FC match report 02/03/2024

Kiwi FC 1 - 1 Yorxeter FC

After a confident message earlier in the week from upper management stating “GAME 100% ON” the boys were fizzing to finally get another run out in what has been a cancelation filled season. However, after making one of the longer trips SW there was some doubt that set in and jokes about hitting the pub early as the opposing team slowly made there way around the turf. It was then suggested that it wasn’t suitable to play on due to being a foot under water in the far corner.
Thankfully the heavens had finished opening up by then so there was optimism that a bit of work could help make the pitch playable. After watching a snow shovel being used to little or no effect by the opposition, the newly nicknamed “barrier boy” went to work finding a broom & utilised some kiwi ingenuity with a road barrier to great effect helping progress with clearing the water. However the true pre match MVP goes to Plant aka “drain man” or otherwise awarded as the “biggest p**s head” who managed to find an empty manhole after the kick off time had passed helping clear any remaining water from the waterlogged pitch.

GAME ON!!!
After what Yorxeter later claimed was a long warm up by Kiwi FC that had us come out firing and them starting slow due to only having a few minutes. A questionable claim to say the least, however the game was underway. Albeit some half an hour later than originally scheduled.

With Kiwi FC kicking off, the first passage of play led to some quality passing early on in the match making the most of the slick wet surface that had the Kiwi’s controlling the game from the outset. A few early chances and goalmouth scrambles had a goal looking likely with the most notable falling to Rodney but was fired well wide but promising play. Looking to catch the keeper sleeping, Blake fired a long range effort from near the halfway line that had everyone gasp but narrowly sailed over. After some good hold up play again by Andrew a few balls in behind eventually led to a corner. Half way through the half, man of the match Collier got up well to head home. 1-0 Kiwi.

A few chances for the home team asked some questions and had “barrier boy” in goal come out for a high ball that he was never going to get to. One of the Yorxeter players then loudly announced to his fellow teammates that the keeper was %@ #! and to put it on him. His remarks only led to some routine saves and solid defensive headers by Randle & Salmon that didn’t manage to even the contest before the half. Half time remained 1-0 to Kiwi.

As the game went on the contest opened up in the second half and some tired legs led to some substitutions that later formed as talking points at the post match fine session. Yorxeter slowly worked their way back into the game after stringing some good passing passages together which mostly led to various long balls when the press became too much for them. One eventually led to a breakaway down the wing putting Garcia into full flight trying to keep up but unfortunately led to them slotting past from close range. Game all square 1-1.

Kiwi kept probing with some good distribution up top. A switch of play led to a great opportunity for Po***ck who was in space but was left red faced when the ball went through a hole in his foot and out for an opposition throw. Promising nevertheless. Charlie relished his opportunity as super sub getting himself about and putting in a delightful ball in behind for Rathbun not long after the pair lacing up their boots but his attempt to lob the keeper had the ball sailing a few stories over the bar. With Yorxeter gaining momentum from their 2nd half goal they were pressing for a second which is where Collier cemented his MOTM performance. He came out with a number of great blocks on the edge of the area helping keep Kiwi in it and believing the win was still in our grasp.

Having the gaff Finn away on the slopes could’ve been the difference on the day where some Guardiola tactics could’ve tipped the contest in our favour. It finished 1-1 which led to what felt like a loss in the changing room as it was definitely 2 dropped points which felt more like another points deduction.

But we go again and look forward to putting together a cup run that provides some momentum for the seasons run in.

Stoke Travel Match report

Match summary: 2-2 draw to FC Real London
Date: 27th January 2024
Location: King Georges Park
Competition: Harry Alderton Premiership

The 3rd game of 2024 saw Kiwi FC take on FC Real London in a highly anticipated 1:45pm kick off. In the reverse fixture earlier in the season kiwi won the game on the day, however due to fielding a ineligible player the points were given to FC Real London. Nevertheless, this time Kiwi were coming into the game on good form putting on strong performances to win their last 2 games. Hoping to continue this form they arrived at this a away fixture with a strong squad, which included a debut for Will Hunt.

The game began with a slow start for Kiwi, with FC Real London putting pressure on Kiwi’s back line. However the back line remained strong and were able to deal with the pressure.

Around a quarter of the way through the half FC Real London won a free kick inside Kiwi’s half. It was a well struck free kick that travelled over the wall and was misjudged by Case-Green who was only able to parry the shot into the goal. FC Real London took the lead 1-0. Following the goal, Kiwi were still struggling to reach their full potential, although they kept going, containing FC Real London with defensive headers and blocks from the back line.

The performance then started to improve with a number of well organised passes being played in the middle of the park. Off the back of this Hunt was able to dribble down the wing and whip in a delightful ball to the back post were Manaton leapt to meet it with a bullet diving header that just flew past the post. Things were looking better for Kiwi.

The half finished at 1-0 and the lads were able to regroup with an inspiring half time team talk from the Gaffer to get Kiwi fired up for the second half.

It seemed to have worked as the noise and the intensity levels increased massively at the start of the second half. Kiwi fashioned a number of chances on the FC Real London goal, notably a header by Curwen which was cleared off the line. It looked as if the equaliser was coming.

For all the good work Kiwi were producing in the second half, it almost went undone when a looping ball into the box was met by a FC Real London attacker who had the opportunity to shoot in the box. However due to speed of defensive pressing it was enough to put the FC Real London striker off as they put their shot wide.

There was around 20 minutes to go and it seemed it might not be Kiwi’s day even after their improved second half performance. However the Gaffer made an inspired substitution. He brought on Brunton who, with one of his first touches of the ball being a throw in, was able to launch the ball into the box were Manaton was there to meet it with a header which smashed into the back of the net. All their hard work in the second half finally paid off and Kiwi levelled the match 1-1.

It got even better for Kiwi shortly after. The Referee deemed that the FC Real London defender had handled the ball in the box. Cahill-Fleury then stepped up and slotted the ball into the bottom left hand corner. So from being 1-0 down for a long part of the game to now winning 2-1 with 10 minutes to go.

It looked as if Kiwi were going to get over the line. But with a few minutes to go it was deemed that Garcia handled the ball in the Kiwi box giving FC Real London the opportunity to level the game from the spot. Case-Green stood strong but was unable to stop the penalty. FC Real London levelled the game 2-2.

The game then became very tense with only a few minutes to go. Kiwi had the chance to win the game. Cahill-Fleury had a shot on the edge of the box that looked destined to head into the back of the net but it was blocked by the FC Real London defender. FC Real London then went down the other end and was clear through on goal until Case-Green was able to tackle the incoming striker to prevent them from putting the ball into the net. This intense game was then ended with the full time whistle, finishing 2-2.

This might not have been the greatest performance by Kiwi, but they showed their fight and mental strength. Ultimately, making it a positive point gained and lot of things learned from the game. The team now look to progress in the league and put on a strong finish to end of the season!

KIWI FC 5 - 4 Royal Wells Firsts

After a month of inactivity for the Kiwi FC boys due to pitch closures, byes and the festive period it is fair to say that the state of the lads fitness was dubious. Brimming with excitement for the opening game of 2024 on a brisk but clear Saturday afternoon a few of the lads turned up 2 hours early just to mentally prepare for the job at hand.

The spirits were high going into the game on a pitch that was full under water just 7 days prior. Kick off at 1pm sharp sore a tightly contested early period with lots of activity down the left hand side with Conor and Liam making good inroads before Blakey turning the CB inside and out to slap the butcher to beat a bewildered keeper who was rooted to the ground, 1 nil.

It wasn’t long until Kiwi had their second with Conor at the center of it again causing absolute chaos. A well worked training ground routine, long throw to Ruari dropping down just inside the 18 yard box where Liam was waiting to send the ball thundering into the bottom corner 2:0. The game was filled with physicality, slips and crunching tackle before the calm head of Seba showed what ball playing center back can do whipping an inch perfect early cross to the man in form Ruari who delicately slotted another 3:0.

Cruising, the Kiwis seemed to lapse in concentration where a bobbly mishandled ball in the box lead to a penalty after Charlie demonstrated the mentally of “The ball or the man can gets passed you but never both. Charlie used his jedi mind trick to force a miss, hitting the cross bar and cleared by big Johnny boy at the back. Some controversy to end the first half with an overruled offside lead to a reduction in deficit to 3:1 however the defensive effort of the back four and holding midfields and precision of the attacking plays was pleasing going into half time

The Christmas pudding must have caught up with the boys conceding 45 seconds after the kick off with a wonder goal in the top bins where the spiders live 3:2. Chances were a plenty for both side with Ruari score two more to complete the hatrick securing himself man of the match which was extremely well deserved. The game ending closer than expected at 5:4 but KIWI FC will take that leaning into a good weekend.
