SOUTHERN PLAYOFFS — WHAT A DAY! 🖤

What an incredible day hosting the U16 Southern Playoffs at Westcombe Park! 🔥

Six fantastic games, some brilliant football and an atmosphere that made all the hard work behind the scenes absolutely worthwhile.

Huge congratulations to all the players and coaches who gave it everything on the field. 👏

But one of the biggest highlights of the day was the support on the sideline. 📣

The noise, energy and enthusiasm from everyone who came along was AMAZING! It really felt like a proper football community coming together to support the players and celebrate the sport we all love. 🖤🤍

A massive thank you to every volunteer who helped make the day happen — from setting up and running the games, to the BBQ, refreshments, stalls, downbox, sideline support and everything in between.

It takes an army of volunteers to put on an event like this, and we genuinely couldn’t have done it without you. 🙌

And finally, a huge thank you to everyone who travelled to join us and made the day such a brilliant occasion.

The Kent Exiles are proud to be hosting the BAFA U16 Southern Playoffs on Saturday 8th August at Westcombe Park RFC.

Come along and cheer on some of the best young American football talent in the South as teams battle it out for a place in the National Finals!

Kent Exiles U19 Head Coach Announcement

The Kent Exiles is delighted to announce that Junior Hayden has been appointed as the new Head Coach of our U19 programme.

Junior has been an integral part of our Academy as Academy Lead, playing a key role in developing our player pathway and helping to shape the culture and direction of youth football within the club. His passion for developing young athletes, commitment to creating a positive environment and vision for the future make him the ideal person to lead the next chapter of our U19 programme.

As the team continues its journey following its return to National League competition, we believe Junior is the right person to build on the strong foundations already in place. His focus on player development, accountability, teamwork and creating an environment where every player can reach their potential perfectly aligns with the values of the Kent Exiles and what we are trying to achieve.

Junior will continue in his role as Academy Lead, ensuring our pathway from U16 through to adult football remains stronger than ever, while leading the U19s into the 2027 season.

Please join us in congratulating Junior on his appointment. We are excited to see where his leadership takes this talented young group and look forward to supporting him every step of the way.

Coach Junior spoke of his appointment and said:

I’m looking forward to taking on the role of Head Coach of the Kent Exiles U19 programme.

My vision is simple: build an Academy that develops great young people as well as great football players, with a clear pathway from U16 through to senior football.

We’ll focus on discipline, accountability, hard work and teamwork, creating an environment where every player can reach their potential.

I’m excited to work alongside our coaches, volunteers, parents and committee as we continue building an Academy the entire Kent Exiles family can be proud of. 🖤🤍

Earlier this week we announced that Coach Dave has stepped down as Head Coach of our U19s.

After an incredible journey helping rebuild the programme, guiding players through the Associate season and leading the team into a full National League campaign, Dave has decided it’s the right time for a new voice to lead the next chapter of this talented group.

This decision hasn’t been made lightly, but it reflects Dave’s commitment to putting the players and the Academy first. While he is stepping down as Head Coach, he isn’t going anywhere. Dave will remain a key part of our U19s and the wider Academy programme, continuing to support the development of our players and coaches.

Over the past year, he’s helped lay strong foundations for the future, creating an environment built on hard work, resilience, growth and togetherness. His impact on this group extends far beyond results on the pitch, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything he has given.

Thank you, Coach Dave, for your dedication, passion and leadership. We look forward to continuing this journey together and are excited for the next chapter of our U19s. 🖤🤍
