Autumn is a great time to get out on the course. 🍂

The changing colours look amazing, the fairways can be softer underfoot – but unpredictable weather can make staying comfortable a challenge.

The right clothing can make all the difference. 🧥

Here are three autumn essentials we'd recommend keeping in your golf bag:

🧢 A trusty cap – Keep rain off your face and the low sun out of your eyes.
🦺 A lightweight body warmer – Add an extra layer of warmth without restricting your swing.
👖 Water-resistant trousers – Keep your legs protected from rain, mud and damp conditions.
👕A moisture-wicking base layer - To keep your core warm whilst managing sweat

With the right layers, you can stay comfortable and focused from the first tee to the final green.

And if the weather isn't on your side, why not work on your game at the range instead? Our Toptracer technology gives you detailed feedback on every shot, helping you understand your game and identify areas to improve.

You hit a wayward shot from the fairway and it’s heading towards the boundary. 👀

The dread of a costly drop starts to rise only to quickly disappear at the sight of your ball rolling onto the cart path. A free drop! Brilliant. 🤩

But what side should the ball be dropped on? 🤔

According to the rule book, you drop your ball at the ‘nearest point of complete relief’ – so whichever side is closest to your ball that offers no interference with your lie, stance or swing and doesn’t position your ball closer to the hole.

The shot you have to take might not be preferable but at least you now know what to do. 🏌️‍♂️

You may have noticed that we've recently replaced all our Power Tee mats, so you can now get more out of your practice. 🏌️‍♂️

We’re big fans of Power Tee here at A1 Golf. Their premium practice mats provide a consistent and repeatable setup to help you develop muscle memory, rhythm and confidence with every shot.

Whether you’re fine-tuning your drives, approach or chip shots, our new mats offer a much more supportive and realistic experience so you can tighten up your technique in time for your next round. ⛳

Making changes to your swing? Don’t let one imperfect ball flight pull you back into old habits.

Focus first on making the new movement, using slow, controlled swings and judging each attempt by the motion rather than the result. The ball is your feedback, not the target. How well do you hit it?

⛳ Build the movement gradually, add speed as it becomes comfortable, and give your technique time to settle.

In time you can focus on better aim and distance, but only when you hit the ball well.

Put purposeful practice into action at A1 Golf Activity Centre this week! 🏌️
