💪💪 5.8 MILLION METRES – THAT’S A WRAP!
What a summer it’s been for the NOWCA Summer Club 2026! ☀️🏊
From 1 July to 30 September, swimmers across the NOWCA network collectively made their way along our virtual 70km journey across Lac Léman – passing milestone destinations at Montreux, Vevey, Lausanne and Geneva along the way.
The final swims are in, the scoreboard is closed, and the numbers are incredible:
📏 5,816,358 metres swum – that’s more than 5,800km!
👑 Naomi Osborne finishes at the top of the individual leaderboard with an incredible 145.8km
📍 St Andrews Lakes takes the top spot in the venue standings with 1,763.1km swum collectively – and the highest average distance per swimmer at 42.0km
But just how far is 5.8 MILLION metres? 🤯
🏊 That’s the full 70km Lac Léman challenge 83 times
🏊♀️ 116,327 lengths of a 50m swimming pool
🏃 Nearly 138 marathons back-to-back
🏔️ The height of Mount Everest 657 times
🚗 Around 52 hours of non-stop driving at 70mph
🚶 Around 50 DAYS of non-stop walking at 3mph – no rest, no sleep!
Whether you hit your target, smashed straight through it or simply used Summer Club as motivation to swim more – thank you for being part of it.
Three months. 5.8 million metres. One incredible summer of open water swimming. ☀️🌊
That’s a wrap on the NOWCA Summer Club 2026! 👏
But don’t stop swimming just yet... 👀
Keep swimming throughout October, keep acclimatising as the water cools and get ready for the return of the NOWCA Sub10 Club on 1 Nov! 🥶🌊
