“Nukite (Extracting Hand) is not a practical technique but a fundamental method for refining skill.”

From Chōfū (seal posture), step onto your opponent’s yin meridian line, turning the palm upward to connect with their body, unbalancing and extracting.

The Shoden-waza (initial transmission techniques) of Nukite must be practiced repetitively from the very start of training. One learns its use through the body, and it applies to every technique. Without learning Nukite, it becomes difficult to apply any waza effectively

One year on from Kojima Makoto Shuhan's passing. We offered a moment of silence before practice, and continue to train in his spirit, with gratitude and respect. Thank you to everyone who joined us in practice today, and to those who couldn't attend but shared their warm thoughts in remembrance.

I was privileged to take part in the Shigeyoshi Seminar 2025.

Thank you, Sensei Guy Preston, for organising this meaningful event and commemorating the passing of the late Shuhan Kojima Makoto. You also honoured the memory of Kyoshi Mike Johnson, marking the 10th anniversary of his passing.

Without Kyoshi Mike Johnson, I wouldn’t have become part of the Kishinjuku family or had the opportunity to pursue Shuhan Kojima’s legacy.

**Introduction to the Instructors of Nihon Koryu Jujutsu Kishin Juku**

Currently introducing the head instructors, deputy head instructors, and instructors of Nihon Koryu Jujutsu Kishin Juku.

I am very pleased to say, after training with both Yamasaki Sensei and Kasetani Senseit, that Kishin Juku is in good hands.

The extra training time really shows the power of Kishin Juku. Training with both has given me new insights and ideas for training the students at Tokueikan.

Kojima Shuhan would be proud and happy with both Yamasaki Sensei and Kastani Sensei for keeping Kshin Juku's legacy alive

I was also able to train with Yamasaki Sensei of Toyko Hombu Dojo.

Today marked the first Tokueikan practice since the passing of Kojima Shuhan. We observed a one-minute silence in his honour and paid our respects in front of the scroll bearing the four fundamental principles of Kishinjuku, written by Kojima Shuhan himself. I must admit this was an extremely emotional moment for me.

We trained today as if we were in front of Kojima Shuhan.

C'est avec une grande tristesse que je dois aujourd'hui informer du de Kojima Shuhan ce week-end. Nous sommes profondément choqués et souhaitons transmettre nos condoléances à la femme et à la famille de Kojima Shuhan.
Kojima Shuhan n'était pas seulement un formidable maître, mais était devenu un ami cher ainsi qu'un modèle pour moi dans ma vie . Il manquera énormément à tous ceux qui l'ont connu .

La transmission de maître à disciple est très importante dans les arts martiaux traditionnels japonais.
Il ne s'agit pas d'une transmission dans le sens " horizontale" mais plutôt dans le sens " verticale" d'ailleurs.
La transmission ne concerne pas uniquement l'aspect "technique" mais également d'autres éléments comme l'histoire, les coutumes et usages au Japon. C'est ça une transmission " traditionnelle "
