6.7 km. Back on the start line every hour. No set finish distance, just the decision to go again.

Over the weekend, Stolt co-founder Keijo Koistinen and his friend and Stolt athlete Ben Runs Trails took on The Endless Garden Backyard Ultra, with Kris crewing them through the changing hours.

Keijo completed 14 laps (nearly 94 km) and missed the cutoff for lap fifteen by only a few seconds. Ben continued for 16 laps, covering almost 108 km.

That is the unforgiving simplicity of a backyard ultra: run, recover, reset. Then find out whether you can do it once more.

Stolt x 10IronWomen

10IronWomen began in October 2018, when ten friends signed up for Ironman Barcelona. What followed was a grassroots community helping more women find their place in endurance sport.

This season, Stolt is working with 10IronWomen as members prepare for the Maverick Race Jurassic Coast in October. We’ll follow their training, with the team putting Stolt gear to use throughout the build and on race day.

Training is underway.

What our founders have been up to this summer..

is training for his autumn race, a backyard ultra (which to his surprise takes place at the end of SEPTEMBER !), and shared his simulation training run in Finland.

6.7k every hour from 9pm to 5am - “relatively easy” like Keijo said himself 😉

For the Ironman, the essential packing list includes

TRISUIT which stays on for the whole day

SWIM: Swim cap, goggles and wetsuit (anti fog spray if needed)

BIKE: Your bike ;), bike shoes and socks, helmet, shades, bib belt

RUN: running shoes and cap if needed

+ FUEL of choice! Remember to practice your race day fueling 👍

What our founders have been up to this summer?

This weekend, raced the Ironman in Tallinn. She’s a long-distance ultra runner but occasionally taps into triathlon too, having finished multiple full-distance Ironman races.

This year’s race in Tallinn was wet and stormy, making claiming yet another Ironman title even sweeter 🏅
