When someone breaks a World Record, they become an inspiration. That's who was Kelvin Kiptum for runners around the globe. Knowing what he was capable of and waiting for his performance at NN Marathon Rotterdam, it's a big loss. He had been achieving greatness in every run.
He ran to his final finish line much too early. Rest in peace Kelvin π―

In the tapestry of running, every step tells a story β tales of triumph, perseverance, and the unyielding spirit of the human journey. These running stories are more than miles logged; they're the chronicles of individual victories, a testament to the power of the human will.
Each story is a unique melody in the collective symphony of the running community, echoing the rhythm of personal triumphs over challenges faced. These narratives inspire us to lace up our shoes, hit the pavement, and embrace the uncertainties of our own paths.
Running stories count not just the miles covered but the lessons learned, the friendships forged, and the barriers broken. They're reminders that every stride, no matter how small, contributes to a larger narrative of self-discovery and growth.
So, let's celebrate these running stories β the tales of those who turned 'impossible' into 'I'm possible,' who found solace in the rhythm of their own footsteps, and who inspire us to chase our dreams with unbridled passion.
Share your running story below β because in this community, every story counts. Together, let's inspire, motivate, and run toward our next chapter!

You may have a bad day, but attitude is the key. Let's see how Marco is dealing with it.
I have been doing sports for my entire life. It all started, when i was 4 years old on the soccer field with the goal of "playing as well as Dad!" After 31 years, I stopped in the summer of 2022 because I was enjoying soccer less and discovering more interest in other sports. For example, running. So, alongside strength training, I focused more on running because I really wanted to run a marathon at least once in my life.
I achieved that goal this year, in the age of 36. But it turned out to be two marathons, and I wouldn't have believed it if someone had told me that at the beginning of the year. If I stay healthy and fit, maybe I can improve my time from this year (3:22 hours) one day? If not, that's okay with me too. Maybe 2024, because I've already set new goals for next year.
Running means a lot to me now because, at some point, I'm completely with myself. I can forget everything around me and, at the same time, have time to think. I like feeling the heartbeat in my body and challenging myself. I always have in my mind: "There is no such thing as a bad training." It doesn't matter whether I run slowly or fast, exercise and appreciation for myself are important to me.

Michelle Knafla is the master of running humor. Try to watch any of her reels without wondering 'how she came up for that' π
Some inspirational words from her. Save them for weaker moments and follow her to put smile on your faces π
We have to remember that getting a PR doesnβt happen every race, even if we train in the best way possible. The more we race, the more difficult it can be to achieve a faster goal time, which is part of the journey. It doesnβt matter if weβre not at an elite level, not hitting a goal can still sting!
During my training I kept reminding myself that not all runs would feel good. Bad runs make the good runs feel even better became one of my mantras. If all runs in your training are feeling good or relatively easy, you might not be pushing yourself hard enough! Itβs good to remember that not hitting a workout can still mean youβre on track for your end goal! (Even though it can still sting!)
