Super proud of this team who despite a rocky start, did an amazing job to come third place in a very competitive match against Curacao National Team (who beat us yesterday in our first game). Very high standard of competition this year.

PI 2 v Ovale Marseille 5

An early harsh call on an alleged tip tackle set us back against a good team and they took an early lead. P*s can be proud for playing defensively and with integrity. A scuffle meant we were down to 4 and they were down to 3 and we capitalised. PI team be proud, you were competitive against a match fit team who have played many tournaments this season. Kia kaha!

Quarter final result: WIN!!!

PI 6 - Global Chiefs 5

Held onto our lead against the brothers from Global Chiefs repping Fiji and Tonga. Some big hits in this one but we managed to score when we were down to 4 players.

Kia ora semi finals! We will be playing defending champs Ovale Marseille, a tough one.

Hawaiian Shirt Night: keeping up all the traditions on Saturday night. Hawaiian shirts, Croce deo Sud for dinner and gelati for dessert. This is why we love Lignano Sabbiadoro🌴🇮🇹

UPDATE: 2nd place in our pool, first up tomorrow in quarter finals at 10am.

Highlights of the day: big team effort ending in an amazing try by Rico in our last game + getting to know our new Italian whanau. This makes ordering food 100% easier ha!

Lowlight of the day: game 2 curse rises again, this time against Belgium.

A fantastic and positive end to the day with a win over our southern brothers. Great defence led to great attack opportunities. Every single player was on it, so proud.

Much better work from the boys straight after lunch. Getting used to playing together. Great win against a good team.

Game 2 result: PI 3 - Belgium Magnets 8

Score first game: 6-4 to Curacao.

Unfortunate sin bin for us allowed Curacao to score a couple of times before half time. PI pulled it together to almost level in the final minute but a flick back not picked up gave Curacao their final try. A good showing for the boys - especially as we've all met 30 minutes ago! Le Manu. Bring on Belgium at approx. 12pm.
