Clapton CFC Clapton Community FC - East London's 100% fan-owned, members run football club Clapton Community FC, aka Clapton CFC, was formed in February 2018.

Clapton CFC is entirely owned and run by its members, and the club owns the Old Spotted Dog Ground in Forest Gate, East London, the oldest senior football ground in the capital.

It's defeat on the road for the Clapton CFC Men's First Team in an action-packed game.

The only goal of the first half came in very controversial circumstances. With two balls on the pitch, players were split as to which to chase and Hutton scored with one of them.

In the second half, however, three goals in seven minutes gave Hutton a deserved win.

Late on, goals from Andre Odeku and Flavien Stierlen reduced the deficit. However, there were three red cards in added time with CCFC shown two of them.

Long-time Clapton fan Martin Hunt has sadly died aged 55.

Martin lived near the Old Spotted Dog Ground for almost forty years and was a regular at games especially in recent seasons, often bringing friends along to watch.

After the final whistle on Saturday, a group of Martin’s friends and family came together to scatter his ashes on the pitch.

His sister Madi said: “Martin was brought up in North Wales but had lived in London since 1994, working within the environmental sector.

“Although when he was younger he was a big Manchester United supporter, he for many years loved grassroots football and would often watch Clapton.

“He was diagnosed with cancer three years ago and went through several major life changing operations. He did get back to playing friendly football with friends despite his illness and showed great determination and courage.

“He would make it to see Clapton play whenever he could, despite life being so tough for him in the later few months.

“He passed away on the 31st July. We all miss him terribly. We miss his laughter, his wit, his compassion.”

Our condolences to all his friends and family.
