Celebrating Black History Month at David Lloyd Heston!
Meet Hilmy Shawwal 🇹🇿👏 A valued member of our club for over 3 years, Hilmy made history at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, becoming the first wheelchair racer ever to represent Tanzania at the Paralympics! 🏅
Competing in the T54 100m wheelchair racing event, Hilmy proudly represented his heritage on the world stage, carrying his country’s flag at the opening ceremony. 🇹🇿✨
This Black History Month, we’re celebrating Hilmy’s achievements, the importance of his Tanzanian heritage and the dedication it takes to reach the highest level of sport. We’re proud that David Lloyd Heston has been part of his journey and continues to be a place where he can train, grow and thrive. 💜
