✨ FIRST POLE CLASS? HERE’S EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ✨

Thinking about trying pole for the first time? We know it can feel a little nerve-wracking, but we’ve got you! 💜

Before your first class at Pole Academy LDN, here are a few things to know:

✔️ Wear shorts – Pole requires skin contact to help you grip the pole safely. Shorts are essential, even if you’re feeling a little shy at first!

✔️ Skip the moisturiser. Avoid applying lotion, oils, or fake tan on the day of your class as they make the poles slippery.

✔️ Bring water. Pole is a full-body workout and you’ll definitely work up a sweat!

✔️ Arrive 5-10 minutes early. This gives you time to check in, meet your instructor, and get settled before class starts.

✔️ No experience needed. Our beginner classes are designed for complete beginners. You don’t need strength, flexibility, or dance experience to start.

✔️ Expect to laugh, learn, and surprise yourself. Everyone starts somewhere, and you’ll be amazed at what your body can do.

✔️ Bruises are normal. Pole can be challenging on the skin at first, but your body adapts over time.

✔️ Don’t compare yourself to others. Every student progresses at their own pace. Focus on your own journey and celebrate every win.

As instructors, we often see your potential long before you see it yourself.

We see beyond the nerves, the self-doubt, the “I can’t do this” moments, and the frustration when things don’t click straight away. We see the person you’re becoming and honestly, that’s what drives us.

Teaching you how to climb a pole, invert, spin, or dance in heels is actually the easy part. What matters most is the pure magic that happens alongside it.

We remember what it felt like to walk into that first class. To be surrounded by strangers. To wonder if we’d made a mistake signing up. To compare ourselves to everyone else before we’d even begun.

We know how loud that little voice can be. You know the one that tells you to cancel? to stay home? to wait until you’re stronger fitter, more confident? Yep! We know BUT we also know something you don’t know yet…

We know that the strangers standing beside you today will soon become the people cheering the loudest for your successes. The people who celebrate every win, pick you up after every wobble and remind you how far you’ve come when you forget.

We know that the body you’ve spent years criticising will start to amaze you. You’ll stop focusing on what it looks like and start appreciating what it can do.

One day you’ll realise the strength you thought you didn’t have is carrying you upside down. The confidence you thought belonged to someone else is suddenly yours. And the things you once believed were impossible have become part of your weekly warm-up.

That’s why we give every class everything we have.

Not because we want you to learn pole or aerial hoop.

And that’s a wrap! Today was the last session of our very first beginners heel - 5 week intensive course! 👠🔥

To say our students progressed would be a massive understatement. They absolutely FLOURISHED! 🌸💗✨

From not having the confidence to even walk in heels from the first class, we slowly built them up to having the confidence to dance in heels and perfect techniques such as edgework, knee slides, spins, transitions and even finishing in a perfected choreo piece which was beautifully executed! 🔥

Thank you to everyone who booked on, it was truly an honour to dance with you and to teach you. You should all be so proud of yourselves. 💗✨
