In yoga, we involve the whole body. The result: stamina, muscle tone, strength, stability and suppleness.
We start with Surya Namaskars. Try the Yoga Lab

The Summer Solstice is one of my favourite moments of the year. A time to embrace the energy, warmth and abundance of the season, while also remembering the importance of balance.
On Saturday 20 June, I'd love you to join me for two special events designed to help you do just that.
☀️ The Yoga Lab: Sun Salutations (10:00-12:00)
Sun Salutations are one of the most recognised sequences in yoga, yet many of us learn them simply by repetition. In this workshop, we'll explore the poses, transitions, alignment and breath that bring the practice to life, helping you move with greater understanding, confidence and ease.
🥗 Summer Solstice Seasonal Lunch (12:30-14:00)
After yoga, join us for a nourishing seasonal lunch inspired by Ayurveda. We'll enjoy delicious food together and explore simple ways to support health and wellbeing during the summer months through diet, lifestyle and daily routines.
Come for one event or stay for both and make a day of it.
📍 W.G. Grace Community Centre
1 Lion's Close, SE9 4HG
I look forward to celebrating the start of summer with you.

My T-shirt says "All You Need Is Love".
It made me think about how much easier it is to love something when we understand it a little better.
Yoga is often taught through repetition. We follow along, copy what we see and gradually become familiar with the movements. But there is something special that happens when we begin to understand why a pose comes next, how the breath supports the movement and how the whole sequence fits together.
Understanding doesn't take away the magic. In my experience, it deepens it. It helps us feel more confident, more comfortable and more at home in our own practice.
That's one of the reasons I created The Yoga Lab. A space to explore, ask questions and get to know the practice from the inside out.

These longer pre summer days are amazing for nature gazing.
What’s flowering near you?
Most people think of Surya Namaskar as a sequence of poses.
But what if the real practice is learning how to create space in the body so that movement becomes effortless?
In this workshop, we’ll explore how the breath can help us find length, stability and freedom within each stage of the Sun Salutation. By understanding where to create space, how to coordinate movement with breath, and how the poses connect together, the sequence becomes smoother, stronger and more enjoyable.
Whether you’re new to Surya Namaskar or have been practising for years, you’ll gain practical tools to move with greater ease, efficiency and awareness.

There is something deeply meditative about moving through Surya Namaskar when the breath leads the way.
Each inhale creates space. Each exhale invites surrender. What can sometimes feel like a simple sequence of poses becomes a moving prayer, a rhythm that awakens the body, steadies the mind, and connects us to something deeper.
Join me at the Yoga Lab, for a two-hour workshop exploring the intelligence, technique and transformative potential of Sun Salutations. Whether you practise them regularly or usually rush through them, this workshop will help you discover new layers within this timeless sequence.

What is your relationship with the Sun?
I absolutely love Sun sets.
Yesterday I went to a painting class my my talented friend and teacher Lily and I attempted a sunset I experienced in Italy last week, when I was at my Yoga retreat.
Nature is amazing, my skill needs to improve, but it’s such a joy to dare to push one’s boundaries! This was my way to Salute the Sun ☀️
Thank you Lily! Thank you nature! Thank you Sun for painting our world in so many colours.

My mum used to do yoga too.
One day, during Sun Salutations, she turned to me and said:
“What’s the point of all this going up and down?”
At the time, I laughed. But it’s actually a great question.
If Sun Salutations feel repetitive, rushed, confusing, or even a bit boring, there’s usually a reason. Most of us are taught the sequence, but not why it works.
The transitions matter.
The breathing changes the entire feeling of the practice.
Small alignment adjustments can completely change how steady and easeful the flow feels in your body.
Every movement has a purpose.
That’s why I’ve created this Yoga Lab workshop. We’re going to take the sequence apart slowly and look at how it is built. Not to make it more complicated—but the opposite. Once you understand the structure, the practice usually becomes simpler, calmer, and much easier to remember.
