It is a legal requirement to have self-defence insurance in place, first and foremost to protect yourself in the event that you injure another student, or damage any property or belongings in class. The insurance cover is arranged by either Certified Urban Krav Maga instructor Ricky Owen or Joe Hallett through BCA at a cost of £20 p.a. The cover is nationwide, so you can use it at other respective clubs. It is strongly advised that you arrange cover as soon as possible. However, you are not obliged to purchase this, or anything else until you are happy to continue your training after your first class. DISCLAIMER:
Despite the extreme physical nature of the training, injuries are very rare. However, minor injuries do still occur. Please read the following very carefully:
(1) By attending your first class, or any class thereafter, without BCA cover in place, you assume full responsibility for any injury to yourself and or other persons and or damage to property and or personal belongings, whether belonging to yourself, or us. You agree to not hold us responsible for any injury and or damage. (2) You accept that when purchasing your cover, you will not be covered until the insurance certificate is provided by BCA as they require lead time to take out cover on your behalf. You should accept that there could be a delay in activating your cover, due to bank holidays etc. and agree to not hold us responsible for any injury and or damage not covered as a result of your cover being delayed. Should you take out insurance cover independently a copy of your certificate will be required by LONDONfit Urban Krav Maga and until such time as a copy is received it shall be assumed that you do not have cover in place. (3) You agree to notify us of any pre-existing injuries and or medical conditions at the start of each class and make it clear to your training partner/s, so that they are aware of the pre-existing injury and or medical condition. You agree to not take part in any training against the advice of a medical professional. You agree to not hold us responsible for any exacerbation of, or any ill effect directly related to the pre-existing injury and or medical condition. (4) In the rare event of injury and or damage, you agree to notify us immediately, providing all relevant information, in order that the correct treatment can be administered/requested. You also agree to not hold us responsible in the event of delayed, false or incomplete information given by yourself.
