Essex Blades Ultimate Frisbee Alumni

Good news everyone, we've got a place booked for an alumni team at Aye-Aye open at UEA, 16th-17th of February.

It's an indoor tournament we've been attending for the last few years, and it's always a fun tournament and sick night out. We've already got enough for a team so this will be going ahead, comment below if interested!

In other news, we'll be looking at having the second alumni event at the end of the coming term so stay tuned for details.

Quick update for those wondering. As things stand we're looking at the 24th of November for alumni weekend, however this is dependant on the sports centre who haven't yet replied to our emails, so stay tuned.

Also, Skunks Christmas on the 8th-9th of December will be happening, so please get in contact if you'd like to be on the team, it was easily the best tournament of last year!

With women's regionals on the 17th, looks like we'll have to move it to the 24th. Sorry if you can't make this one, we'll try and make sure we have one each term.

So from looking at the votes, we're looking at the 17th of November. To make sure we can book everything early we'll be getting in contact with the facilities staff to book the sports arena on Monday.

If you absolutely can't make the 17th then let us know now and if there's a lot of you then we'll look at another date. Also, depending on the availability of the sports arena we may have to change dates.

ATTENTION ALUMNI

A couple of things, first off I just want to take the opportunity to gauge people's availability for our first alumni event towards the end of this term, so please like the options in the comments below, as Facebook won't let me make a poll with more than two options.

Secondly, the blades are currently planning on entering the Southampton Skunks Christmas tournament, we attended last year and absolutely loved it. I'm looking to enter an alumni team, so please comment below if you're interested. Full details can be found here:

**NOTTINGHAM TOURNAMENT UPDATE**

The most hearty of apologies for the delay- we had some troubles as to who would be paying, but it's all sorted now. We have 2 teams entered, one team of adults (alumni) and one of children (current players).

The tournament will be on the 21st and 22nd of April at Nottingham Riverside Sports Complex and will cost you guys a couple of pounds each (we have subsidised most of the cost for you).

*ALUMNI WEEKEND/PISS UP NEWS*

Good news, Alumni weekend has been clarified as the 4-6th May! (May bank holiday) It is being done a little differently this year in a festival-style format (of which is still not clear to me). We will however get a game, and I'm assuming the preference is for an outdoors fixture. I will set up an event but would like to gauge initial interest- please like this post :)

Hello Alumni!
We have some interesting news for you all!

First and foremost, UKU are hosting an Alumni Cup in Nottingham (looking at you Josh) on April 21st and 22nd. This team can consist of current players as well as Alumni, but we are keen to include as many of you wonderful Ronaldo-esque players as possible! Please comment below if you are interested and I can pass on the details!

This year Alumni Weekend is going to be run differently by the SU. Instead of the format it usually takes, it is going to be more of a festival type thing, with the field having tents and stalls and the such. It is still not set in stone, but the thoughts are that it will be a weekend in early May (probably 5th) I’ll let you know for sure!

If being a real adult is getting you down, or if you just want to relive the best days of your life then we all know tour is the answer. Who doesn't love playing frisbee on a beach, drinking sangria from a Burger King cup and being consistently drunk for a whole week?

There will be a couple of differences this year. Due to us having completely ruined Salou for the youngsters, this year will be taking place in Croatia. We will also not be going with ILOVETOUR, but will instead be going with SportsVest.
