‘My body is my vessel. An archive of experiences. A weapon that has fought battles only I understand. A library of love, pain, struggle, victory and mystery. You’re eyes cannot define all it has endured. Do not place value upon my body. Place it on my being.’⁣

When I’m struggling with my mind, the last thing I want to do is put on my gear and go for a walk.
AD But, getting out into nature, where everything is so vast and colourful, has the most significant impact on my mental health and mindset.
It reminds me how tiny I am compared to the world and how much smaller my problems and anxieties are.

If you’re struggling right now, lace up, and get out into nature, even if only for 5 minutes. It’ll do you the world of good 💛

When you can click onto an app and access thousands of people sharing the highlights and ‘announceable moments’ of their lives and careers, it can go two ways. You either:
- create a level of urgency for things you think you should do and have right now, even if you don’t really want them, because you fear being left behind.
- You give up on your goals and happiness because the competition feels too big, you feel like you’ll never be as good as ‘x’, so what’s the point in trying?

When I find myself doing this, I take a step back from social media and connect with what I really want for my life. I remind myself that somebody else having something is pure proof that I can get there too and and remember that what’s for me will never ever pass me by, *as long* as I’m putting in the work.

The universe is not in a hurry… you are! So pull out of if of the race and come back home to who *you* are and what you want. Somebody might be doing something Similar to you, but they are not you and we all have something unique and amazinggg to bring to the world 🌎

It can be hard to recognise how some of our standard day to day behaviours are getting in the way of us stepping into the most confident version of ourselves.

All of these things will either drain your energy, keep you feeling stuck or have you questioning yourself- you’re worth so much more than that!👏🏻

Which of these do you need to let go of?💁🏻‍♀️

I remembered I’m going to be turning 27 this year and it came at a shock because I thought I was still 25 😂⁣

But back to the point… I felt abit 😖 at the thought of being 3 years away from 30. While I know 30 is just a number and it’s a privilege to age, and I also know that judging by my life so far I’m not one to follow the generic life path that’s laid out for us by society; it’s hard to let go of the deep rooted pressure that as a woman you should have your whole life figured by 30 and the years following that are there to serve everybody else’s needs. Should you not choose that path you’re deemed selfish, a lost cause or just pretty odd.⁣

We know this s**t is ancient and just does not fit in today’s modern world, but you still can’t escape the ‘when you having babies?’ ‘When are you going to get married?’ ‘You can’t be travelling everywhere and working all over the place when you start your family so get your fun in now’.⁣

As a 26 year old who plans to be discovering new career interests until I pop my clogs and who has absolutely no idea when I’d like to start a family etc because all I can think about is seeing the world, I just want you to know that it’s ok if you’re not even close to having everything figured out.⁣

I’d so love it if any 30somethings could give the 20 somethings a piece of advice that they wish they could have told their 20+ year old self🙏🏼🙏🏼

If somebody asked me how to create a thriving relationship, ‘spend a year and a half in lockdown together’ would be the *last* thing I’d advise them to do 🙈

I don’t share much of my relationship online because I like to keep some parts of my life to myself, but I’ll be honest in saying that I found navigating a relationship in a lockdown HARD!

Getting away for a week , spending actual time together, and switching off from life has been fu***ng great and everything we needed to feel excited and reconnect again😌

Relationships need constant work and communication, don’t ever think you’re doing if you have your wobbles!💛

‘What do I need to do to have a smaller dress size?’⁣

‘This one has the least amount of calories, I’ll have that.’⁣

‘If I cut back on breakfast, I’ll do less damage when I go for dinner tonight.’⁣

‘I just want to lose another half a stone and I’ll be happy.’⁣

I’ve been there- in a place where at least 70% of my thoughts were about how I could eat less, weight less, and be less, with the ultimate goal being to feel more happiness.⁣

But, how can you expect to feel more happiness and abundance in your life if you’re always aiming for less?⁣

If you resonate with this, I challenge you to focusing on how you can add MORE into your life next week.

More daily mindfulness practices like journaling, having a moment to take a breath, more boundaries to protect your energy.⁣

More nourishment, more movement that feels enjoyable, more water, more rest. ⁣

More excitement in your career, spending more time with people who make you feel good, and doing more things that light you up.⁣

Having more time in your own company, getting more sleep, and dedicating more energy to your personal growth.⁣

When I made this shift, my whole mindset become more positive and life felt so much more exciting. I knowww it will do the same for youuu 🚀⁣

Something I wish somebody would have told me when I was recovering from my eating disorder was that no matter how much my mind obsessed about food and my body, it was never *really* about food or my body.⁣

I thought the ultimate goal for recovery was to be able to eat everything in sight without guilt and to not obsess about my image, but then I would literally be narrowing my whole life down to food, exercise and my appearance.⁣

Life is so much more than that.⁣

When I let go of the eating disorder, I took my power back. ⁣

I allowed more joy, freedom and so much spontaneity into my life.⁣

I started to travel and face my fears, and find the confidence to turn my little ideas into actual projects.⁣

I gained more personality and learned to be more open and vulnerable with other people.⁣

I began feeling excited about all of the little details that could add up to make one big juicy life.⁣

So while I did need to challenge my food thoughts and fears and let go of fixating in my appearance every day, that was only one tiny part of the bigger picture of recovery. ⁣

When you’re choosing recovery, you’re choosing life. I know promise you it’s so worth it!⁣

If you’re have recovered from an eating disorder, what’s one thing that helped you that might be able to help other people? Xx⁣

Even though we’re all fully aware that Instagram isn’t even a teeny bit close to real life, it’s still so easy to start counting your flaws when you come across a picture of somebody online- I do it all the time!
Whenever you find yourself comparing your whole self to a 1 snap shot of 70 of somebody else, give them a clap 👏🏻 for being a confident gorg human being, and remind yourself that you are a gorgeous human too who’s whole life is incomparable to a single photo posted on Instagram 🚀
