Knowing isn’t the thing that changes this.
You can trace it back.
The moment you were too young to be responsible
but became responsible anyway.
You understand it.
You explain it.
You can even see it happening in real time.
And still……
You over-extend
Over-function
Over-give
Because this isn’t held in logic.
It’s held in the body.
In the moment your system learned:
“If I don’t do this, something will fall apart”
That’s why insight alone doesn’t shift it.
This is the work I do
Carefully.

You understand yourself perfectly. Knowing hasn’t made it stop.
You already know why you are the way you are.
You have done the reading. Done the therapy, maybe years of it. You can narrate your own patterns in real time.
Knowing hasn’t made it stop.
This is not a failure of insight. It is the nature of where the pattern is held.
Chronic vigilance, the inability to rest, the compulsion to over-prepare, these are not cognitive habits. They are nervous system adaptations.
And insight, however sophisticated, cannot reach the nervous system the way that carefully paced, parts-informed, body-level work can.
That is what I do. In-person. In one contained day.
For the woman who has understood herself long enough to be ready for something different.
✦ Save this if it is the first time you have considered that this might apply to you.

High-Achieving Women Are Burning Out In Silence
Not because we’re weak — but because we’ve normalised pushing past the edge.
We know how to deliver. How to lead. How to show up — even when we’re running on empty.
But do we know how to rest?Do we know how to receive care instead of constantly offering it?
I’ve spent years supporting women who are exhausted by being both invisible and hyper-visible.

In the face of systemic harm, we need a holistic approach that combines self-care with collective action.
The harm caused by our governments and institutions to our communities is a complex issue.
From systemic racism to economic inequality, these problems can seem insurmountable.
The question then arises, "Can self-care offset the harm our governments and institutions are already doing to us and our communities?" - https://mailchi.mp/benevolenthealth.co.uk/the-role-of-self-care

5 Practical Steps Towards Radical Self-Care
Embarking on the journey of radical self-care involves a few key steps to help alleviate stress, enhance our mood, and restore our energy, thus equipping us to face the challenges of the world with resilience:
1. Self-Awareness: Understand your needs, aspirations, and potentials. Recognise the oppressive structures that hinder your growth and well-being
2. Assertiveness: Assert your rights and stand up against discrimination. Don't hesitate to voice your opinion. We all deserve respect
3. Boundary Setting: Learn to say no. Setting boundaries that protect your time, energy, and mental health is always worth it
4. Self-Advocacy: Advocate for yourself and others. Be a part of initiatives that promote equality and inclusivity in the workplace.
5. Personal Growth: Invest in your personal and professional growth. Pursue hobbies, engage in lifelong learning, and seek opportunities that enrich you, including radical self-care
We are individuals deserving of respect, growth, and fulfilment. So, let's rise above the oppression, prioritise our well-being, and pave the way for a better, more inclusive workplaces.
