Another great weekend of training and fellowship!

Another Shobukai and Shudokan summer school has been successfully completed for another year.

Although the Yoshinkan is fragmented from an organizational standpoint, with many top teachers now forging their own paths, it is a testament to the Yoshinkan community that we can come together and support such events. It was particularly pleasing to see a vast array of support from different dojos across the UK, and I hope this continues.

I would like to extend my gratitude to Mustard Sensei and Thambu Sensei for their tireless efforts in teaching at these events. Their dedication and passion for the art are what make these events successful. Additionally, a massive thank you to everyone who attended over the weekend; without you, these events would not happen.

We just got back from another fantastic Summer School with 2 of the best teachers in the world. We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to train with Thambu Shihan & Mustard Shihan a few times a year in the UK. Always so much to take away from the experience no matter how long you've been training.

Last night was my final class at Yoshinkan London.

It's been an honour and a privilege to train and teach here for the last 15 years. To say that Yoshinkan London has changed my life would be an understatement. I am immensely grateful for all of the experiences, opportunities and challenges it has provided me.

I just wanted to say thank you to the other people in the photo, Dewi, David, Sam & Daniel. Thank you for your unwavering support over the last few years as we took the dojo through a very difficult period. Thanks for always training hard and showing the spirit of Yoshinkan Aikido.

Dewi Sensei will be taking over the running of the dojo, ably assisted by Sam & David. It's in good hands.

As for me, I'm sure it won't be too long before I will be training and teaching again.... somewhere.

Massive thank you to Jon Marshall Sensei for giving up his time and sharing his experience with us last night. It was a great, sweaty session and a brilliant opportunity to look at a different flavour of Yoshinkan Aikido. Lots to take away and think about. Osu!
