🌱A little behind-the-scenes look at last week’s greens maintenance at SHGC!🌱

From essential course care to keeping our greens in top condition, the hard work continues to make sure the course is looking and playing its best. ⛳️❤️

Hole 1 - The Opening Challenge⛳️

Our longest hole, with the railway line down the left, the stream in play and a narrow fairway to negotiate. A gentle start…right?

Hole 2 - Keep it Straight⛳️

An elevated tee, a tricky green and trees lining both sides. Add a stream into the mix and you’ve got one seriously testing par 3.

Hole 3 - Accuracy Required⛳️

One of the narrowest holes on the course, with trees, the stream and some unpredictable lies waiting to catch an inaccurate tee shot. Keep it straight!

Hole 4 - The Long Par 3⛳️

The longest of our par 3s, with bunkers either side and the stream lurking just 100 yards from the green. Club selection is key.

Hole 5 - Risk or Reward? ⛳️

Fancy taking on the green? You’ll need to navigate the trees, stream and bunker. Play safe, and there’s a much easier route in.

Hole 6 - Short but Sneaky⛳️

Our shortest hole - but don’t be fooled! A brook, front bunker and small green can quickly turn this little par 3 into a big challenge.

Hole 7 - No Stream, No Problem⛳️

The only hole without the stream in play - but an internal out of bounds, narrow green entrance and tricky slopes provide plenty of trouble elsewhere!

Hole 8 - The Windy One⛳️

A testing par 3 into the prevailing wind, with the brook waiting for anything drifting right. And that two-tier green? Good luck reading it!

Hole 9 - Finish Strong⛳️

Trees, a diagonal brook, bunkers and a deceptively tricky green. The perfect recipe for a dramatic final hole. Finish strong!

What a fantastic evening at our Summer Cocktail Party! 🍸☀️

Our members enjoyed a delicious, entirely homemade meal before dancing the night away to an incredible set from DJ Groove! 💃🪩

A special mention has to go to our Chairman… let’s just say his hips don’t lie! 😂

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a brilliant night. We can’t wait to do it all again! 🥂

Join us at the clubhouse this Wednesday 15th July as England take on Argentina, kicking off at 8:00pm. Catch all the action on the big screen with a drink in hand and a great atmosphere. 🏆

Fancy a round before kick-off? ⛳️
Our Wednesday Roll Up runs from 5:00–6:00pm with just a £3 buy-in – the perfect warm-up before the football starts!

📢 Summer Festival Update – 11th July

Unfortunately, due to lower-than-expected ticket sales, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Summer Festival that was due to take place on 11th July.

We appreciate the support shown by those who had already purchased tickets and were looking forward to the event. Anyone who has purchased tickets will be contacted directly regarding a full refund.

While this is disappointing, we are already looking at alternative events and activities for members throughout the summer and will keep you updated.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of the club.
