We’re back playing badminton.....yay!!!
After months of not being able to wield our rackets, the club is able to play. Covid related rules apply, but nothing onerous and perfectly manageable.
So, if you’d like to meet some lovely people in a friendly environment, then do pop down to Harris Girls Academy, Homestall Rd, London SE22 0NR on Monday evenings (at 7pm) and Saturday mornings (at 10am) for a couple of hours of badders. The cost is £6.50 per session, which includes use of feather shuttles. All standards are welcome
We operate a turn up and play policy, so there are no commitments like joining fees, or monthly/annual subscription etc. As per a famous tv meerkat, “it’s simples!”
If you have any queries do call me (Asker) on 07914857306 and I’ll do my best to help.

Hi all!! SOME GOOD NEWS AT LAST
We’re resuming our badminton sessions from tomorrow (Thursday 6 August) at 7pm (ends 9pm)
Please note that for the moment we are playing at Haberdasher Aske’s sports hall on St Asaph Rd (300 meters away from Nunhead station), because our regular venue (Harris Girls Academy) is not opening its doors until September.
In addition to Thursday evenings, we are also playing on Saturday mornings (10am to midday) at the same venue. THE COST IS £6.50 per session. This includes the court cost and feather shuttles. Please bring the exact amount if possible. Thanks

Hi everyone!! It’s been so frustrating not being able to play the last few months, but we know it was the sensible thing to do.
The most recent information is that leisure centres will open on 25 July; so, there’s light at the end of the tunnel. However, we don’t know at the moment how it’s going to operate.
We’re in touch with Harris and will update everyone on this page or you can stay in touch with the group using this link:

Hi All,
Lovely to see you all at the picnic yesterday. The food was great as was the weather.
Some of you will have noticed that Julian, our resident "David Bailey”, was taking some pictures. He has very kindly posted these on a web site. The link is below.

TO THOSE ATTENDING THE ANNUAL PICNIC ON SATURDAY 14 JULY
Last night’s footie result was sad and we need to cheer ourselves up!
This is a final reminder (not that you guys needed one) that the picnic extravaganza is this Saturday, following the usual morning badminton session.
Just some additional logistics. There won’t be a gap between the badminton session and the picnic, so we hope to get going straight away (more or less). People will be hungry, so please bring your food offering with you in the morning, if at all possible. Also endorse this in the book in the morning, so that we know the reason why you aren’t paying your subs for that session.
I have only had a few people say what they are bringing. It is ok if you aren’t bringing anything, you don’t have to. But it will help me considerably, to know if people are bringing something because I can then tailor the club purchases accordingly. I will be buying food tomorrow morning.
Therefore, a SHORT EMAIL TO EVERYONE (see my email to you) saying what you are bringing or that you are not bringing any food will be much appreciated.
I will bring a softball bat and ball to have our annual row (sorry, I meant to say, our annual game) of rounders. Don’t forget to bring rugs, chairs, music etc.

Hello all.
Thank you if you’ve emailed me about your availability for the annual BED picnic on 14 July and confirmed if you’re going to be playing during the school summer break (28 July to 18 August inclusive).
If you haven’t please drop me a quick message ([email protected]).
This will help us prepare and keep costs down. Thanks

We are taking a Club photo next Saturday (5 May). So, please wear your club T shirt for the occasion. Attendance maximises around 10.30am, so we will stop then to take the photo. If you can’t play that day for any reason, you can still pop along for 5 minutes and get in the photograph.
We are also donating the subs for that day to the brain tumour charity. If you wish to add to that, then please bring along extra dosh!
Quick reminder, we return in the New Year as follows:
1) First Saturday session is on 7 January
2) First Monday session is 9 January
