1 year on. I still eat, I still drink. I just make choices. Sometimes boring sometimes fun. But it is sustainable. There doesn’t need to be new year new me. Just hopefully a longer lasting me.

Not all progress is measured on scales.

Last little tweak before the family holiday. Probably do myself out of a job but training has been one of my lowest priorities.
Nutrition has taken precedence…or lack of.
The 78kg physique is not the best feeling..not by a long shot.
The most important thing to consider working towards a physical goal is how you can incorporate ‘what it takes’ it into your daily life and be stronger, fitter and as a result happier.
If you can’t, or it isn’t your job or passion to try. Don’t compare yourself to others.

It’s has taken me the same amount of time to reach 85kg from 88 as it did from 108kg to 90. Strength is the priority.
We have never been the family to eat out often but we do like a drink or three at the weekend in the garden.
Calories in and out can be a broad brush stroke approach dependent on s*x and age but tailored training is important. What works for me will not necessarily work for you. So find yourself a good quality PT…not forever but just long enough to understand the approach that works the best for you right now.

PROGRESS 4 MONTHS IN.
I would say it had become quite difficult to look objectively at myself over the past few years. Call it excuses but training 30-40 clients per week.
Day to day running of a business.
Becoming a Dad for the first time with all that entails whilst hopelessly trying to cling onto some semblance of social life like I did before had taken its toll.
I was ‘fit’ still trained 3-4 times a week but my eating had become way out of the norm and had become the status quo. On average I had gained 2kg per year over the past 10 years.
It wasn’t until a family trip away at the beginning of the year that I took an honest look in the mirror.
I won’t bore with the basics behind the work as it’s all over the gram by every fitness professional out there but it has been a resetting of my own standards and accountability to my clients and friends but more importantly my family.
