Today, we celebrate not only a phenomenal coach, but a truly inspirational mum—Coach Shannon—as she shares a proud moment with her daughter, who collected her Player of the Day award for her football team on this very special Mother’s Day.

Shannon isn’t just a Holiday Club Director—she’s a driving force behind our mission to break barriers for women and girls in sport. As KDW’s Women’s & Girls’ Sports Leader, she has led from the front—guiding her borough team to girls’ football championship gold and helping secure victory at the Year 3 & 4 borough Tri-Golf finals. Her commitment to excellence, empowerment, and community is unmatched.

Last year, ,Coach Sim and his team made history, battling their way through the Borough 3x3 Basketball Championship and emerging gold medal winners! That victory didn’t just secure the top spot—it earned them the honor of representing the borough at the London Youth Games.

Today, the journey begins again. One of our squads is stepping back onto the court, ready to defend their title through the group stages and knockout rounds. We know the competition will be fierce, but win or lose, their dedication, teamwork, and resilience are already a victory in itself.
