Well done to our very own Kate Huddlestone for her very deserved nomination - Kate has been a treasured member of our club for years.
Whether she's scoring, on the committee or just being her smiley self around the clubhouse, Kate has helped this club flourish into the thriving community club we are today and we are forever grateful for her hard work.
Well done for the nomination!

A great game of cricket against a great bunch of people
Flamingo Cricket Club came out on top on the day, but it was a well-fought game with two of our youngsters hitting 50s for the first time.
Hope to see you again next year!

The women's team played their final indoor league match against Lingfield today and managed to get another fantastic win!
All three pairs batted really well and scored an excellent 306 runsπββοΈ πββοΈ πββοΈ
Gemma got herself a great wicket and Eve took the other 3 (helped by Georgie with two amazing catches!!πͺ).
The score got quite close towards the end of the match but the tight fielding and excellent bowling kept Lingfield to 277 runs.
A huge thank you to Paul for umpiring and Gary for scoring again βοΈ
Another really enjoyable match to watch. Well done team! π π π

Two incredible knocks from our youngsters Ajaiy and Ellis yesterday in their Under 16 festival game against Ansty.
Ajaiy hit 113 from 90 balls and Ellis got 63 from 60 as the team chased down 209.
The whole team had bowled and fielded excellently against a strong opposition.
The youngsters go again against Horley today, go well π

Nobody should have to give up the sport they love for financial reasons.
We all know that cricket is an expensive sport. The equipment, kits, match fees and travel all add up.
That's why we are introducing the Player Support Fund, a fundraising mission that will be used to help remove some of the financial barriers to playing cricket.
The fund will operate on a discreet basis, where a player or parent can quietly ask their manager, captain or a committee member for support to keep playing should they hit hard times.
Financial hardship could hit anyone of us at any time, and we as a club would like to ensure this difficult situation does not stop people from enjoying the sport we all love.
Some examples of how the fund will be used include:
- Ensuring the club has a supply of equipment such as helmets and bats for everyone to use
- Providing kit for players in need
- Covering the cost of teas to ensure someone receives a full meal
This fund will be built up through voluntary fundraising, and we've got a big raffle to kick things off!
Expertly modelled by Club Captain Dinger and Chairman Paul, we will be raffling off a framed Duncan Fearnley bat signed by the one and only Ian Botham!
Half of every ticket will be donated and ringfenced for the Player Support Fund, to be used for the goal of improving financial accessibility.
The raffle is being held online, ending August 25th and tickets are available here https://raffall.com/359504/enter-raffle-to-win-lord-botham-signed-bat-hosted-by-the-memorabilia-hub
We would love to hear your ideas on how this player support fund could be used to help widen cricket participation - thank you in advance for your support

Introducing The David Ball Pavilion End π
If you look up 'club legend' in the dictionary, chances are you will see a picture of our David.
Multiple generations of Southwater cricketers will testify to what an impact David has had on our village, club and our love of the sport.
As well as an excellent career on the pitch, David has dedicated decades of service to the club as a committee member, including a long stint as Chairman.
It felt only right that we could honour recognise David in this way.
Here are the pictures of David and the committee at the official unveiling of The David Ball Pavilion End - which came as a complete suprise to David who thought he was turning up to just a regular committee meeting.
Thank you for all of your years of service David!
