1. Ultra X Rwanda is a true adventure.

🚤 Before you even start your watch you'll take a boat across Lake Ruhondo to the start line, with staggering views of the Virunga Volcanos and dense jungles all around.

🦍 When it's time for that countdown though, it's on. You will trek through some of the most beautiful and jaw dropping terrain you can find on the African Continent, as the course is situated near the Volcanoes National Park (where the famous mountain gorillas are based) and the twin lakes.

🇷🇼 If you're looking for an all out African adventure, Ultra X Rwanda will deliver.

2. The Landscape

⛰️The course will take you over gentle hills and valleys, through traditional coffee and banana fields with lush, jungle like vegetation, and over a stunning lake peninsula.

🌋 It's one of the most picturesque places Ultra X has gone. From the vegetation to the sprawling mountain ranges, there's always a view to keep you going during those tough miles!

3. The People

🏃‍♀️The locals you'll encounter from Kigali to the course are some of the friendliest and most supportive we've ever had at an Ultra X event.

🏃People will be lining the course and checkpoints cheering you on, offering you a smile to brighten up you up. You haven't lived until you've crossed the finish line at Ultra X Rwanda with a local crowd cheering you on.

4. The Climate

☀️ Between 15-27 degrees, the climate of Rwanda in December lends itself to perfect running weather. You'll be able to run along the lush African wilderness in JUST shorts and a T-shirt, what a dream.

5. Logistics

💪 You've got an ultra to tackle, so we make logistics easy for you.

✈️ With direct flights to Kigali, Rwanda's Capitol city, from London and many other European hubs, Ultra X Rwanda is one of the Africa's most accessible races.

Honorable Mention: The Coffee!

☕️ If you needed ANY more convincing, Ultra X staff claim they've had the BEST coffee in the world right here in Rwanda. So if not for the adventure, do it for the coffee!

There's only 100 places for Ultra X Rwanda. Entries open at 17:00 for early access.

Are you in for the adventure of a lifetime?

- THE ADD-ON PACKAGE

At Ultra X Rwanda, we offer competitors the chance to join us for an intimate add-on package to the Kigali Genocide Memorial and Akagera National Park - home of the Big 5.

These incredible photos were taken by 2026 competitor Nina

“After seeing the mountain gorillas and experiencing Rwanda, its landscapes and its people through the race itself, the Akagera add-on felt like the perfect ending to the trip. Camping in the middle of the park, sitting together around the campfire and heading out in the jeeps to look for wildlife made the whole experience feel really special. We also had the kindest guides, who made the trip unforgettable. The combination of nature, the people and the atmosphere made it unforgettable, and I came home with some of my favourite photos from the entire trip.”

If you want to join us in Rwanda in 2027 - entries open this Sunday at 18:00 - exclusively for those who have registered their interest online.

We currently have 400 people on the registered interest list for just 100 places - if you haven’t registered your interest yet, it may be the only chance you have to sign up to this once in a lifetime event.

DO NOT make any plans for this Sunday at 18:00 UK time 🔥🦍💙🇷🇼

- Rwanda Ep. 3 with .wallis

Cath was our final finisher at the inaugural Ultra X Rwanda in January 2025.

We were completely blown away by her unrelenting attitude and determination to finish despite battling illness and having to complete the course largely alone (save for our sweepers) due to her friend suffering an injury before Checkpoint 1.

Cath completed the 50km in 12hrs and 21 minutes - 9 minutes ahead of cut-off, and finished to one of the biggest parties we’ve seen at an Ultra X!

Cath also visited the Mountain Gorillas of the Volcanoes National Park before her race.

With the return of Ultra X Rwanda and registrations for 2027 opening this Sunday for those who have registered for early access, we want to highlight what makes Rwanda such a special location for your next Ultra X.

- Ep.2 with Sally

Sally met one of her best friends at an Ultra X in Tanzania - and this is why she HAD to join us for another in Rwanda 🇷🇼

From the local communities to the stunning views, Rwanda has so much to offer. The “land of 1,000 hills” may be unrelenting, but the views at the top are so worth it.

“The only way I can describe it is as beauty in its simplest form.”

Even after the event is over you can stick around for our add-on package (more info on this later) or for one of Rwanda’s renowned gorilla treks, just like Sally did.

The beauty of Morocco seen through Ultra X Morocco 🇲🇦

Ultra X Morocco is one of our most popular events, and its beauty can't go unnoticed. 🐪📸

I mean, If Christopher Nolan chose to film his upcoming "Odyssey" here, I think it's worth a few kilometers! 🎬

That's right, starting at the legendary Aït Benhaddou UNESCO World Heritage Site, the filming location for the Odyssey and many other famous Hollywood films, the course of Ultra X Morocco takes runners and walkers through "the door of the desert"...!

They must traverse through rugged desert floors and lush oasis's, passing kasbahs and fortified villages throughout their journey. 🏜️

Trust us, you don't want to miss the way the rocks light up during sunrise and sunset. 🤩

The support from the local communities is always one of our favorite elements, time and time again we watch lives change on this very course.

With the launch of the new 25km distance, we're excited for more people to experience all that Morocco has to offer this November. 🏃‍♀️🏃

Here's what you need to know:

1️⃣ Included in the entry fee is transport to the start-line from the Official Race Hotel (Karam Resort), and a celebration buffet before the awards commence on Sunday evening (also at the race hotel).

2️⃣ We know how much better these events can be when you do them with friends, and so to celebrate the launch of our first ever 25km route on the African continent we are offering a huge 50% off discount code to the new 25km distance exclusively for friends and family of those who are signed up to the 110km or 50km distances.

If that’s you - check your emails for the code 😉
