Dear SEMLA Club Reps,

I look forward to seeing many of you at the Finals, either on the field, or in the stadium. There is a pick-up game from 11am for spectators who want an early run around before finding their seat and enjoying the 3 x Finals and U12 exhibition game. To join the pick-up game, just get to the adjacent 3G pitch (next to main stadium pitch) for 10:45 ready to run. If you are on Facebook, please mark yourself as 'going' to this event.

If you don't know the location, shame on you, but it's Horsham Football Club, West Sussex. Free parking at the venue or train from London every 30 mins. Gates open from 10am.

Division winners trophies will be presented during the day. If your team has won something, please ensure somewhere is there to collect. If that's not possible we'll get your trophy to you somehow. The only division TBC is London Div 3. See the event programme 2nd last page for our winners this season.

We have decided to make this year's finals a FREE event. However to help grow lacrosse in the South, we will have an optional donation option via contactless payment.

We are supporting two campaigns at this finals via a stick donation appeal. Kenya Lacrosse and women's box lacrosse via SBL. If you have a usable stick, head (with or without need to restring) or shaft then please bring to the Finals and donate.

We are looking to raise £6100 to support the installation of four Box Lacrosse substitution gates and appropriate netting to surround the indoor turf at The Oxford Academy's indoor dome.

The Oxford Academy school is the home of Oxford City Lacrosse Club. Its facilities include an outdoor Astro-turf with lacrosse markings, grass pitches, and an indoor dome with 3G turf. The indoor dome is now used regularly by national teams, elite representative squads, and external lacrosse camps. The club's leaders, David Brucie Morris and Annabel Campbell, have strived to develop community lacrosse for juniors based at the school. Oxford City hosts weekly training sessions and termly community outreach programmes which culminate in a junior community tournament at The Oxford Academy. The school has begun to introduce more curriculum and after school lacrosse for Y7 and Y8, and are looking to introduce box lacrosse to their older pupils for boys and girls in 2022.

Thanks to the progress of Oxford City LC, the opportunity for junior box lacrosse, the location of the school in the south, and the potential for the indoor dome to become an excellent venue for box lacrosse, SEMLA would like to ask for your support to fund further work to improve the venue. Sport England will match all funds raised so we are seeking a minimum of £3050. The cost to install substitution gates will be £5663. The remaining £437 will be spent on additional netting, supporting steel wire and to cover the Crowdfunder transaction costs. Any further matched funding above £6100 will remain with SEMLA for our support of box lacrosse in the south delivered by Southern Box Lacrosse (SBL).
