Did you know that dance can be more than just an art form?
It’s a powerful tool for wellbeing, connection, and community, which is why it plays a vital role in social prescribing.
Today is Social Prescribing Day organised by National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)
Social prescribing connects people to non-medical activities, like dance, to improve mental and physical health. Whether it’s through a structured class or simply moving to music, dance helps reduce stress, boost confidence, and enhance overall wellbeing.
At the IDTA, we celebrate the transformative power of dance and its impact on lives worldwide.
Let’s champion dance as a prescription for joy, movement, and connection!
We would love to hear your stories of when dance has benefited an individual as part of social prescribing 👇
