Systema is a lifestyle for us (RMA - Russian Martial Art). Many different Systema school around the world. Our methodology based on Systema Talanov Methodology. Training includes, but is not limited to: hand-to-hand combat, grappling, knife fighting training. Training involves drills and sparring without set kata while focuses on natural movements, breathing and relaxation. This page is all about our school and that we find interesting to share

Exciting news 👊

We’re teaming up with Unitas Youth Zone to deliver a Systema martial arts taster session for their 8–12s group on Saturday 11th October.

This short session will give young people a chance to explore Systema — a principle‑based martial art that builds confidence, resilience, and practical skills.

A big thank you to Giacomo, Colena, and the Unitas team for making this happen. We’ll share how it goes!

Resilient Self is a 12-week wellbeing journey designed to help you build inner strength and real-world confidence. Funded for Barnet residents and delivered alongside our regular Systema classes, this programme blends:

🌬️ Emotional regulation and breathwork

Whether you’ve ever felt unsafe in public spaces or simply want to reconnect with your body and community, this is for you. We especially welcome women and young adults (20–30) seeking lasting change. Created in partnership with local schools, families, and funders.

THE MATRYOSHKA PRINCIPLE OF COMBAT: WHAT FIGHTING TAUGHT ME ABOUT MENTAL FREEDOM

Most people think fighting is about strength and aggression.
It's not.
Like Russian nesting dolls (matryoshkas), true combat effectiveness has layers that must be unpacked one by one.

This weekend at Martin Wheeler's seminar revealed something profound: The heaviness that blocks your fighting ability isn't physical—it's mental tension disguised as physical limitation.

Imagine your body as nested shells:
• Outer layer: Physical tension
• Middle layer: Mental resistance
• Inner core: Effortless power

The paradox?
The lighter you feel internally, the heavier your impact becomes externally.
True power emerges when you release tension, not when you accumulate it.
This principle extends beyond fighting—when we remove unnecessary mental weight in any area of life, we access an untapped reservoir of capability.

Free Play - Kicking

In Systema, a type of martial art, punching, takedowns, grappling, and kicking all happen at the same distance.

Kicks might not be the strongest, but they fit naturally into how we fight. They can come from surprising angles, making it hard for the opponent to see them coming. When done well, a kick can make the opponent’s limb go numb for a bit, giving you time to act before they can strike back.
