Congratulations to everyone who graded yesterday in our dojo. We had an excellent training and grading from the JKA England Chief Instructor Yoshinobu Ohta Sensei 8Dan.

Today at K2 in Crawley with Sebastian. Watching training and tomorrow I will join the group 3rd Dan and above. Early afternoon referees practice with Ueda Sensei.

Recently, training has been focused on preparing for exams for higher karate ranks. Two members will be taking grading for Shodan, while the rest will be the next higher student ranks (kyu). Hana already has a black belt from the JKF commission in Japan but wants a certificate from the JKA. Joost, who holds 1st kyu, will be taking the 1st Dan exam. They are training intensively, and we would like them to pass their exam in this coming Sunday at Crawley K2. The remaining club members will take the grading on December 8th at our dojo. The grading will be held in front of Ohta Sensei 8th Dan our JKAEngland Chief Instructor. Not everyone will likely be allowed to take the exam, but for now, they are striving to do their best. No

Charity tandem skydive for Prostate Cancer UK.
Kris Jasinski -Chief Instructor from our Kyoushinkai Shotokan Karate Club with Bartosz Miara completed a tandem 🪂 skydive last weekend to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. 1 in 8 men will get it, and if you’re Black, your risk is double. Prostate Cancer UK stands together to support our dads, brothers, partners and friends – by raising awareness, funding lifesaving research, campaigning for change and providing helpful support and information. To raise money for Prostate Cancer UK, I'll be skydiving with a tandem parachute 🪂on Saturday 30th August in Leszno-Poland. Yoshinobu Ohta Sensei teaching in Poland.
Over 100 karateka’s primarily from Poland, Lithuania and the JKA Berlin, participated from yesterday in a training session led by JKA England Chief Instructor Yoshinobu Ohta Sensei, 8Dan JKA.
Ohta Sensei is leading a three-day training camp near Poznań, Poland. He came at the invitation of JKA Poland Chief Instructor Mariusz Jewdokimow 6Dan. The morning session today (2 hours) was devoted to kihon, enpi and nijushiho katas. Ohta Sensei demonstrated interpretations of both katas. A very interesting and intensive training session. More training will follow in the afternoon and tomorrow.
