🪔As the warmth of summer fades, gifting us slower and shorter days, the body begins to feel the seasonal shift.

🪔Autumn is a gradual ‘going inward’ phase to rebalance with what is left after the Pitta season.

This weekend is the last weekend of summer.

How are you doing with this summer’s goodbye??

I personally love autumn, and the natural shift my body and mind gets into.

🪔The soup making and candle lights, the time indoor and the pantry getting fuller with autumnal and wintry spices. Every year, it feels like a lovely ritual.

Believe it or not, I even look forward to an extra blanket for warmth :)

🍁Instead, what I struggle with is the seasonal imbalance and symptoms that come with it..

YES, the struggle is real because Vata - the air and space element - for it to be called the King Dosha - means that it is very present in all we DO and ARE, can make me feel the physical and emotional wobble..

Yes, VATA DOSHA is also known to bring the highest imbalance symptoms.

In fact we don’t need to have a predominant body Vata constitution to suffer the imbalances.

I am myself a Pitta-Kapha, still with a Vata mind imbalance!

🍁Our unique body makeup naturally will have a small or a more significant amount of Vata; otherwise, our bodies won’t be able to function. Here below are the major Vata vital jobs:

Movement:
Vata provides the kinetic energy (“the wind”) required to move food through the gastrointestinal tract.

Swallowing:
Vata is localised in the head and throat to direct food downward into the oesophagus.

Elimination:
Vata is localised in the pelvic region to facilitate the removal of waste and toxins.

🌬️Hello VATA , the graceful DOSHA..

Also The Power of Movement and Change

Have you ever felt restless, anxious, or struggled with dry skin and cold hands?

Perhaps you’ve faced difficulty settling your mind or digestive irregularities like constipation.
These are common signs of an imbalance in vata dosha—the principle of movement in Ayurveda.

But vata doesn’t only bring challenges; when in balance, it is the source of creativity, enthusiasm, and vitality that fuels all movement and change in life.

🌬️ What is Vata Dosha?

Vata dosha arises from the forces of ether (space) and air. It governs all motion in the body and mind, including breathing, muscle contractions, nerve impulses, and even the flow of thoughts and emotions.

Vata energizes creativity and adaptability, making it the dynamic force behind all physical and mental movement.

Structurally, vata is responsible for movement in the colon, skeletal system, nervous tissue, and elimination channels, while mentally it governs activity, perception, and sensory awareness.

Its fundamental qualities are dry, light, cold, rough, subtle, mobile, and clear—both supporting vitality when balanced and causing disruption when aggravated.

As the warmth of summer fades with shorter days, the body begins to feel the seasonal shift.

Autumn is a gradual ‘going inward’ phase to rebalance with what is left after the Pitta season.

The Wind, the element of Vata - also called the king dosha - reminds us of freedom and openness. With it, it can also bring a sense of feeling ungrounded and slightly drained.

When entering a seasonal cleanse, the attention is on prevention, taking care of the first signs of Vata symptoms brought by the element changes in nature and so in our body.

Our gathering is an opportunity to pause, reflect and observe and nourish after a fiery summer.
