National Camps 2025!

Last weekend the Windsurfing Dugongs took part in the National Championships and Champions Cup. And after some stiff and close competition we were crowned Champion Club for 2025!

We are massively proud of the entire team for getting out there across all fleets and giving it their best effort, for some it was their first ever event and at the other end of the scale, those in the IQ Foil fleet that didn’t count in the Champions Cup team results you provided great team support, coaching and encouragement for the little rippers. A real team effort!

Hats off and a massive welcome to all the other teams for putting up a strong and very very close competition. As always big thanks to the for organising and running this event.

Last week three of the Windsurfing Dugongs attended Techno 293 Europeans Championships in Athens, Greece as part of the UK team. Windy conditions we presented to the team pretty much every day which made for exhilarating racing. Ruby, Aarian & Harry did the team, the centre and importantly themselves proud with a lot of personal progression throughout the week backed up with consistently progressive results and flirting with top ten results throughout the week.

Well done Ruby, Aarian & Harry, we are incredibly proud, representing the Dugongs and Team GB on the international windsurfing stage. Harry and Aarian are now transitioning to the IQFoil while Ruby will continue with Techno and dabble with Foiling. We wish them all the luck as they continue to windsurf their way around the world and of course the Dock.

Last weekend the Windsurfing Dugongs headed to Windsurfing Nationals.

A weekend of racing to suit all abilities from the 3.5 rippers to 7.8 shredders and an opportunity to defend the Champions Cup we won last year.

Wind, rain and a little lightning was sprinkled throughout the weekend, the competition for the Champions Cup was tight. After a great weekend racing on the water the top three teams were tied on points and the winning team was decided on count back. The Dugongs taking 3rd, Glossop Gladiators 2nd and Queen Mary Skimmers 1st. A big congratulations to the Queen Mary Skimmers, a well deserved win!

Although we didn’t bring it home for a second year, the Dugongs had a great weekend with plenty of personal achievements and silverware amongst the team.

Easter Youth Activity Weeks 2024 - DSWC Our Easter Youth Activity Weeks cater for beginners, intermediate and advanced participants in kayaking, sailing and windsurfing. Participants are divided up into groups dependant on ability to maximise progression within their chosen activity.

2023 National Champions !! The Windsurfing Dugongs did it and we are mad proud.

Competing over the weekend the team brought it home with some fantastic personal acheivements as well as this massive team achievement.

Anais McCarthy one of the first and original Dugongs was also awarded the prestigious Rob Cartwright Trophy.

What a weekend for Junior Windsurfing as a whole but also for the Dugongs team.

A big shout out to these six shredders!! Six of the Windsurfing Dugongs have just competed World Championships in Limassol, Cyprus.

From those first steps on those inflatable Boards and 2metre soft sails to this, what a journey. Some are now moving onto Foiling and some have their sights set on Europeans and Worlds next year, well done gang we are super proud of you all!
