14 nights in hospital
4 days in ICU
13 doses of sleeping tablets
104g of amoxicillin
58 doses of paracetamol
Many litres of oxygen
1 CT scan
2 X Rays
2 ultrasound scans
A few tears
1 argument with a fellow patient
Many amazing nurses and doctors

Not quite the last 2 weeks I had planned and right now it all feels a bit surreal. What started as self isolation with potential COVID ended up being a pretty severe pneumonia, some type 1 respiratory failure and an admission to ICU .
▪️
Always interesting to be on the other side as a healthcare professional and I can now fully sympathise with patients when they complain about how disgusting some medications taste 🤢.
▪️
A huge thank you to the amazing staff at West Middlesex Hospital for looking after me over the last 2 weeks. How lucky we are to have such an amazing free service ❤️
▪️
Thank you to everyone who’s messaged or called. I appreciate every single one of you. 🥰 but the biggest thanks has to go to who has been an absolute hero this last 3 weeks.
▪️
For now I’m headed back to Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 to get some fresh air and some R&R. I’ll see you all soon 😘

EMMA TIME 🥰
▪️
I know y’all already know this but another reason why I love my community - 2 weeks ago I messaged and asked where the best place in Greece to visit was and without a second thought she offered me her empty apartment (she was unfortunately out of town 😩)
▪️
So I spent some time alone in Athens and after years of telling myself I wouldn’t be able to spend so much time in my own company I can honestly say I am truly a convert. Solo beach days are THE BEST 🏝
▪️
If you haven’t been to Athens then I’d highly recommend it as a travel location - islands, beaches, city’s and allll the amazing food (I even ate some 🥒 and IYKYK)

Back in London and ready to GET IT 🔥

Out here getting minutes of exercise wherever I can through running, walk commute to work, cycling and some strength and stretch work🚲🏃🏼‍♀️💪🏼
▪️
Missing the support of my community during this but doing it for the cause which is bigger than running and bigger than sport.
▪️
If you haven’t already, get involved! 6 days left to log your time spent exercising in the app and help get us to 1million hours of exercise which = $1 million donated by to our Home Team Heros
▪️
Feeling pretty hype after a chat with Captain .ayo and the crew this evening.
WE WILL BE BACK.
STRONGER.
BIGGER
LOUDER
AS ONE

We go again, whilst y’all stay home 🏠
▪️
It’s hard, it’s really hard. I get it. Whilst I love the clapping and support on a Thursday evening (it usually brings me to tears), it would make me happier to know everyone is following government guidelines as much as they can to allow me and my colleagues to do our job safely.
▪️
If you tested positive today, do you know everyone you’ve been in contact with recently? Is your conscious clear if a relative or friend were to end up intubated on ICU?
▪️
Act like you have the virus and are trying to protect everyone around you from getting it. Not just the elderly and vulnerable but your fittest best friend (there’s a lot of them intubated on ICU too 😢)
▪️
And above all - be kind! Especially now.

IWD 2020
▪️
A morning spent running with the epic women of LDN (actual running not coaching). Back to an OG Fartlek session at Ornamental canal and was nice to see what speed I had in the old legs (thanks for holding pace)
▪️
Then we got to listen to some incredible women share their stories and methods for being more BRAVE, STRONG, MINDFUL and CONFIDENT. All the feels ❤️❤️
▪️
I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by these amazing women every week who show up for themselves and let us be a part of their journey. 🥰
▪️
Thanks captain for a lung busting session and top 📸 skills

FASTER THAN 🔥
▪️
Faster than last week. Faster than last month. Trying to get any level of fitness back is hard. Trying to keep my own fitness whilst coaching and working a busy full time job isn’t easy. Life gets in the way and I like to have some down time 🍺
▪️
Having the LDN women to keep me accountable helps. And having a great pair of shoes like the new super lightweight and comfortable SL20s also helps. And they look fly 👟 (if trialling I’d suggest a half size bigger than your normal running shoe for the perfect fit)
▪️
One key take home message from our session last night with is how important your girl gang is for holding you accountable and making movement a regular important part of your routine 🏃🏼‍♀️💪🏼
▪️
Faster with my girl gang 👯‍♀️

RUNNING = COMMUNITY
▪️
Is there anything more fun than unsanctioned street racing on a Friday night with .dem.crew ?? Probably not 😁
▪️
Running really does bring people together and together we all go Faster Than before 🔥💨
▪️
Some mad fast splits put down on the streets of Hackney but let’s see what 7 weeks of ‘Faster Than’ training can do 👀🙌🏼
▪️
LETS GO \\\
