🎉This week our Marrow volunteers hit an incredible milestone - they have signed 200,000 people up to the stem cell register!
That’s 200,000 people ready to save a life if they are ever found to be a match - which is absolutely huge.
“This milestone reflects the dedication and passion of the thousands of students who have volunteered with Marrow over the past 26 years. Marrow volunteers recruit one in four people who go on to donate through Anthony Nolan, making this network critical to our mission. Its impact is truly life-changing for patients in need of a stem cell transplant.”
We couldn’t be more grateful to every one of our Marrowers past and present 💚

Feeling crafty? Take some inspo from Becky’s fabulous fundraising in aid of Anthony Nolan ahead of her London Marathon challenge in 2026.
Becky got into the festive spirit selling some crafts and hosting a raffle at the school Christmas fayre, raising a fantastic £568 from handmade charms, bracelets and other bits that her girls and nieces helped make.
She says:
“I decided to run London marathon in memory of my Dad who we lost in 2018 to Myeloma, he was extremely proud of me the last time I ran London in 2016. He was there for my first marathon in Jersey, and my 2nd in Manchester. He would be over the moon that our girls are helping to raise awareness and would be cheering me on if he could. I'm so grateful Anthony Nolan have given me the opportunity to go experience London again, and for a cause that's very close to my heart.
We raised these funds by making a few hampers all with donations from local businesses and friends and family.
My girls and my nieces also made bracelets, keyrings and phone charms to sell at the school Christmas fair. They loved selling them to all their friends. We have loved doing this, and we are already planning a bake sale next for our next fundraising event!”
What an amazing way to get the kids involved and raise those vital funds for Anthony Nolan – thank you Becky and all those involved! 💚

24 hours / 72 miles – that’s 3 miles every hour, on the hour, for 24 hours! 😮
This is exactly what Team AN superstar Georgie, and her band of amazing friends and family did recently to help raise funds in aid of Anthony Nolan.
Georgie said: “We have nearly raised a total of £7000 now, with donations still coming in. Throughout this 24-hour challenge, so many people have been made aware of the importance of stem cell donation, and the impact Anthony Nolan has on treating people with blood cancer, the money raised is an added extra.
But my biggest achievement is having had 42 people sign up to become Stem Cell donors. So, a big thank you to everyone who came, supported, donated, and believed in what we were doing.”
This is only the beginning for Georgie, as she will be taking on the TCS London Marathon 2026 with Team AN!
Thank you so much to everyone who got involved with this mega challenge and supported the team in raising such incredible funds and awareness. 💚

At the end of the month, Rufus is organising a night of amazing music in London, with fundraising on the night in support of Anthony Nolan. Rufus said:
“Anthony Nolan saved my mother’s life. It’s as simple as that. An American twenty-six-year-old girl, registered as a donor, donated her stem cells that then saved the life of my sixty-six-year-old mother. I still find the science behind it and the fact that this was possible extraordinary and almost unfathomable.”
“This is why I have decided to, alongside my co-host Peter, organise a fundraising concert at Bush Hall in London on 24th October. We want to raise awareness and funds to support the charity’s continued work. I am so grateful to be able to do this event and excited to give something back to a charity whose work I believe in so wholeheartedly.”
We’re wishing you the best of luck, Rufus and Peter, and thank you for your kind support! 💚

Wishing all our Team AN runners a huge good luck for the Great North Run today!
We'll be cheering you on at Miles 4 and 8 and we'll see you in the Charity Village afterwards too. 💚
You've got this!!
“The Great North Run is just a few days before the 15th anniversary of my lifesaving transplant and a couple of weeks before my 60th birthday. What better way to celebrate the gift of life?”
We are so excited to be heading to Newcastle this weekend to support our incredible Team AN runners taking on this iconic half marathon, and amongst our team in green will be Steve and Jess, a father and daughter duo lacing up their trainers this year to continue their amazing support of Anthony Nolan.
Steve said; “In 2009, I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). I had a lot of chemotherapy, but it didn't do the trick. I needed a stem cell transplant to save my life. That incredible gift of life came from my wonderful donor, a total stranger who had signed up to the stem cell register. Anthony Nolan’s genius scientists matched me with my donor and one of their superhero volunteer couriers picked up my stem cells from Germany and brought them to Leicester!”
Now, 15 years on, Steve is doing incredibly well – and looking forward to running 13.1 miles around Newcastle alongside Jess!
This isn’t the first time Jess has volunteered her time to support our charity, which has given her dad another chance of life. Jess has been involved in several recruitment drives to encourage more people to sign up to the stem cell register, and help someone like her dad – from school to university, and now she works at Next – who are one of our corporate partners!
We’re wishing Steve, Jess and everyone else taking part this weekend a huge good luck – leave your messages of support in the comments below! ⬇️

"Ten years ago, I returned home after 116 days in hospital following a stem cell transplant that saved my life. I had two weeks to live and Anthony Nolan found me a donor in that small window. I had previously received several treatments of chemotherapy over fourteen months after being diagnosed with cancer in 2014.”
Stephen is celebrating a decade since he received his lifesaving transplant by releasing a compilation album titled ‘116: Ten Years Later’ on his label, Wrongpop, with all the money raised from the album being donated to Anthony Nolan. 🎶👏
“I emerged with a newfound respect for life and I realised I needed to make the most of whatever time I had left. My mind raced with ideas to run marathons and see the world, but first my body had to catch up: I could barely make it up the stairs to my first-floor flat.”
“I made contact with my stem cell donor to thank him and he replied with a note that told me to go and live my life, since that would be the greatest thanks he could receive. It lit a fire in me to rehabilitate and to get out into the world, as well as to give something back.”
Thank you, Stephen, for your generous support and efforts in raising awareness for our cause! 💚⭐

Today we’re shining a spotlight on an inspiring supporter, Harry, who has recorded an incredible cover of Frank Sinatra’s That’s Life in support of Anthony Nolan. 💚
Harry dedicated this amazing single to his Uncle Dave, who was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2022. Thanks to a lifesaving stem cell transplant in 2024, Uncle Dave is now in remission and looking forward to many more healthy, active years with the people he loves.
To honour his uncle’s journey and raise awareness, Harry has released the song across all music platforms (here is the spotify link: https://open.spotify.com/track/5UQcY8IDLhQOUm54DHo7me?si=d92abe68386f4088) 🎶

🚴♂️ Congratulations to Paul, who completed the Chase The Sun cycle challenge over this warm weekend! 🌅
Starting at 4:20am on the East Coast and finishing at 8:30pm in Weston-Super-Mare, Paul cycled an unbelievable 333km with elevations of 3,000m.
Paul made the decision to take on this cycling challenge in support of Anthony Nolan only days before his event, and still managed to raise an incredible £1,274 to help us continue our lifesaving work for people with blood cancer and blood disorders. 💚

⭐💚 Meet Ben, one of Anthony Nolan’s amazing supporters, who decided to take on the challenge of the Edinburgh Marathon to raise money and awareness for us. He has managed to raise a truly astonishing amount – over £27,600. 💚⭐
Ben and his family first heard about Anthony Nolan when his mum was diagnosed with leukaemia. A matching bone marrow donor was found through our register, but sadly, Ben’s mum passed away in 2011.
In Ben’s words: “I had always wanted to do a fundraiser for Anthony Nolan. In spring 2024 I completed my first 10k, and saw my brother-in-law complete the Manchester marathon. I wasn't a regular runner, but I love a challenge, and these two events gave me the idea and inspiration to take on the challenge of 26.2 miles for AN in memory of my Mum.”
Ben has received a truly incredible amount of support from friends and family: “The support and generosity I received was quite overwhelming. And knowing it will go to hopefully saving others from the pain of losing a loved one makes it all worthwhile.”
Ben, we are so incredibly grateful for your dedication, hard work, and generosity. Thanks to you, and everyone who supported you, more potential lifesavers can be added to the register, and our research into new treatments for blood cancers and disorders can continue.
From all of us at Anthony Nolan: THANK YOU!!!🥳
