A gentle 60-minute women-only yoga class that combines effective stretches and slow movements to ease back pain, release tight hips, and loosen stiff muscles. A short guided meditation at the start of the session will settle your mind, ground you in the present moment, and calm the nervous system, helping you arrive fully before the movement begins. The class closes with deep relaxation to reduce stress and leave you feeling genuinely rested.
No experience needed. Perfect for complete beginners who want a gentle, inclusive introduction to yoga and meditation in the open air.
We will meet at the Southwark Park Bandstand 10/15 minutes before the class begins. This gives us a chance to introduce ourselves before we make our way together to a quiet, tranquil spot within the park.
PLEASE BRING YOUR MAT/TOWEL & A BOTTLE OF WATER.
If you have a blanket or cushion for extra comfort during the meditation and relaxation, those are welcome too.

Have you ever felt stuck in a limbo kind of situation, where you could neither move forward nor reverse back? Maybe you slowly adapted to it, unable to step over. I know. It sucks when you feel trapped and can't see a way out.
One thing yoga taught me is that however life unfolds, with its twists and turns, we must try to embrace change amid such heaviness.
A tight spot is temporary, whereas not trying to change it can have long-term effects. At the end of the day, making choices and decisions is a part of life. Sometimes we make the wrong ones โ true, yet fearing the consequences won't make things better either.
Choosing over passively accepting is empowering and feels good because you know you have made a decision and followed through on it.
However, this works the other way out. What youโre not changing, youโre choosing.๐โโ๏ธ

How often have you noticed yourself disconnected from everything around you and overwhelmed by emotions you canโt even name? I feel you.
Maybe you came from a place of stress and discomfort, struggle with anxiety at school or work, bringing home tasks and worries.
Finding the right balance between your personal life and the pile of things you need to do seems just far and unattainable, right?
Well, there is something I'd like you to think about. Why do you have to find your balance? Many say this without fully understanding the actual meaning of this expression, which โ side note โ is not exactly true.
Finding balance is hard; where do you even look for it? Into your shattered feelings? Maybe not a great idea. What you should do instead, is create your balance, and this is doable just by making a few adjustments and little changes to switch your mindset.
๐ฆฉ (Honestly) acknowledge your feelings
You can't fix a problem without fully understanding it. Therefore, step back, notice what triggers your anxiety, and take time to find out what is serving you and what is not.
๐ฆฉ Breathe โ read this!
Have you ever been busy doing something and, all of a sudden, you realised that you were holding your breath tight? If you're working too hard and losing clarity, check in with your breath every now and then. In the end, breathing is one of our basic bodily processes and keeps us alive and connected.
๐ฆฉ Practice self-compassion
Try not to be too harsh with yourself. Recognise that youโre doing your best and give yourself room to fail. It is absolutely okay to be there.
Here you have it, my small tips for a more balanced approach to everyday life. You might try them and see what happens โ and don't forget to let me know!
Taking the time to create balance in your life will serve you and everyone around you as well.
Also, let me know if there is any other tip youโd like to share!

A back bending practice can be incredibly healing for body and mind.
More than any other pose, backbends have the potential to open up the heart chakra, Anahata.ย The element of this chakra is air and space.
Backbends create space in the heart centre as we open the chest and heart and also activate prana vayu, an energising force that governs respiration and reception.

Camatkarasana ~ Wild Thing is great for improving flexibility and strength. It opens up the chest, lungs, thighs and shoulder muscles and builds upper back strength. Just like other backbends, this powerful asana stretches the entire front body.
It helps strengthen the shoulders and the upper back and improves spineโs flexibility, while also enhancing your arms and wrists strength.
So, yogis, roll out that yoga mat and try this empowering pose!

Thank you body for being my home on planet Earth and for teaching me so much about myself.
Thank you for 33 years of standing with me even when I wasnโt on your side and for forgiving all the judgement I put you through.
Our body is perfect just as it is, whatever shape, size, flexibility or fitness level and should be celebrated every day!
Now to you guys. What would you like to thank your body for?๐

Let go of expectations or anticipations of what is coming, release anything that dwells in the past. Realise that you donโt have to be doing โsomethingโ all the time, except being mindful of what itโs happening here and now.
This is how you practise being mindful, how you train the mind to be in the present moment and to accept change and impermanence.
What does mindfulness look like for you today?

Are you connected to your water element?๐
This element is associated with the Second Chakra, which lives in the pelvis and hip region.
Water is the element of emotion, creativity, passion, and pleasure, and encourages us to tap into our emotional bodies, honour our intuition, and follow our passions.
You can connect with the water element through Ujjayi breathing - which mimics the sound of the ocean - and of course through asana practice. A lovely sequence to add some fluidity to your day may include hip-opener poses such as Pigeon, Prayer Squat and Goddess Pose.
Feeling connected to your emotions and creativity will open a sea of possibilities and powerful feelings you might have not considered yet. Enjoy the flow!
