Seeing yourself in others is an important part of yoga philosophy. To feel this connection in our body we practice looking in the eyes and hugging 🤗.

Balancing poses are challenging for young children. They require focus and calm. Starting with their foot by their ankle is a good variation to explore balancing before even attempting to lift the foot all the way up to the inner thigh. Another great variation is acorn to tree. Children start in child’s pose and on the count of five slowly come into a beautiful tree with open branches! 🌲 🌳 🌴 📷 healthline

In yoga, places in our physical body corresponds to specific emotions and behaviours. In the camel pose we practice opening our chest. We bring more energy to our heart center to live our life with kindness, love and compassion. May these little yogis keep their heart open as long as possible. 🙏

Getting into the wheel pose? No problem at all for these little yogis. They are just naturally flexible and it’s so endearing to see and to remember how we use to be able to do hand stands, cartwheels 🤸♀️, and all sorts of movements at that age. We unlearn them and then we have to work so hard to be able to make these shapes again. How about we stop unlearning, how about getting our children to learn and keep practicing these as they grow up so that they become adults with stronger and more flexible bodies and healthier minds?

Self practice session using our favourite yoga spinner cards. Getting autonomous is a great step in a yoga practice. Feel confident to choose on your own the asanas you want to practice, exploring your strengths and areas for development are amazing skills. Personally it took me years to feel confident to build my own practice and it doesn’t have to be this way. Gradually we want our little yogis to be able to practice on their own and understand what suits them, what makes them feel good and take more ownership of the whole process. Yoga is much more than an activity you do at the gym or in a yoga studio. I am so happy when I hear that some of my little yogis practice on their own every day. This makes me so happy!!! 🙏
