Aside from the obvious health benefits which are widely known, we don’t really concentrate on the psychological benefits of exercise. The added confidence and inner strength gained from being fitter and stronger has a great psychological impact. This should give us greater motivation to exercise even more….

Amazing benefits of exercising during pregnancy.
Increasing numbers of people are now choosing to continue to exercise during pregnancy and provided a woman has no medical issues that should prevent her from exercising there is no reason for her to stop. In fact, there are many benefits in continuing to exercise providing you follow certain guidelines and adapt and modify some exercises/activities there is no risk to mother or baby.

Why do we exercise?
Aside from the obvious health benefits which are widely known and reported in the media, we don’t really concentrate on the psychological benefits of exercise. However, we are constantly reminded of the physiological benefits such as reduced risk of coronary heart disease; developing a more efficient circulatory system and reducing blood pressure to a controllable level. The added confidence and inner strength gained from being fitter and stronger has a great psychological impact. Studies have suggested that a small amount of physical activity can have a positive affect on a person suffering from depression. Therefore, we should be promoting these improvements in wellbeing as motivators to exercise more.
