🏉 INTRODUCING OUR 2026/27 VICE CAPTAINS 🏉

Following on from our announcement on this season’s first team captain we would like to introduce our vice captains for 2026/27 - James White, Danny Fox and Will Prior.

James is continuing in the role after being appointed as a vice captain last season. A versatile back and a defensive leader, Jim is a product of of youth set up and has won 71 caps for the first team.

Danny is starting his first year as vice captain. An ex-boxer and Leicester Tigers academy player, Danny won the Nat West Vase while at Langley School. He is a powerful and aggressive 9 and yet another graduate of the Woodford youth system with 71 caps.

Will has been a stalwalt of the 1st XV since his debut in 2020. A ho**er who can play across the front row, he has an eye for the try line. Will leads by example and approaching centurian status at the club with 93 caps.

We are sure you will join us in wishing the vice captains, every success in the coming season.

We’re delighted to announce that Saul Wratten has been appointed as our 1st XV Captain for the 2026/27 season! 👏

Having served as Vice Captain for the past two seasons, Saul has shown outstanding leadership both on and off the pitch — and was also deservedly named Players’ Player of the Year 2025/26 🏆

A consistently top performer, Saul’s commitment to the club, his teammates and his own performance is second to none. 💪

Even more importantly, Saul is one of many players to have come through the Woodford Rugby Club youth system, making his appointment even more special. 💜

With an impressive 77 1st XV caps already under his belt, we’re excited to see what the next chapter brings!

🐾🍻 Gary’s Post-Training Pit Stop!

Gary popped into the clubhouse yesterday for a quick drink after training… because apparently running around a rugby pitch is thirsty work! 😂

He was very well behaved, looked after his humans, and obviously made sure the bar staff knew exactly where the treats were kept. 🐶🍺

Just your average Woodford member… four legs, waggy tail and absolutely no intention of buying a round! 😂💜

Today is all about celebrating YOU! 🙌

After months of revision, deadlines, exams, stress, and probably a fair few “I’m never going to get through this” moments… you’ve made it to the other side! 😅👏

Whatever is written on that results sheet, today is a chance to take a breath, celebrate the hard work you’ve put in and look forward to what comes next.
