For this very special anniversary, we’ll be joined by a LIVE ORCHESTRA COMING ALL THE WAY FROM ARGENTINA 🇦🇷🎶 — bringing the sound, energy and emotion of Argentine tango right onto our dance floor.

And for an occasion this special, we have a very special venue: the amazing Jackson’s Lane! ✨ A beautiful space and a wonderful dance floor for our biggest celebration of the year.

TUESDAY 01/09: BEGINNERS at 7pm + at 8pm, MILONGA FUNDAMENTALS & 2 PRACTICAS

This Tuesday, we bring back Milonga Fundamentals after a lot of you asked for more 💃🕺

At 7pm, our Beginners class continues building the essential foundations of Argentine tango — developing confidence, connection, musicality and a growing vocabulary for the dance floor.

Then at 8pm, it’s time for the MILONGA FUNDAMENTALS, fun fun fun!

WAIT! What is Milonga? And what does it makes feel so different from tango — and why is it so much fun to dance?

Milonga has its own distinctive musical character. While tango is generally felt in a strong, measured 4/4 pulse, traditional milonga is often written and felt in 2/4, giving it a quicker, bouncier and more continuous feeling. At its roots is the characteristic habanera rhythm — that unmistakable long–short–long–long rhythmic pattern that gives milonga much of its playful swing.

In this lesson, we’ll explore how to hear and feel that difference in the body, rather than simply trying to dance tango faster. We’ll discover the basic milonga pulse, the habanera influence, and how the music naturally leads us towards smaller, lighter and more rhythmic steps.

Sunday 30/08: Special CALESITA primer + Los Angelitos milonga!
☀️💃 WHO LIKES THE CALESITA? 🕺☀️

CALESITAS – The Tango Carousel
Elegant, romantic and one of the prettiest movements in Argentine tango, the calesita takes its name from the Spanish word for a carousel.

And that is exactly the feeling: one dancer becomes the centre of the carousel, beautifully balanced on their axis, while their partner walks around them, creating a smooth, continuous rotation.

This Sunday we’ll explore calesitas from different positions and in different directions, discovering how a very simple idea can create many possibilities. We’ll work on the secret that makes them feel effortless: axis, connection and control, allowing the rotation to happen smoothly without pulling or pushing your partner.

And followers, this one is especially for you too! 💃

The calesita creates one of those wonderful moments in tango where the free leg has time to play. We’ll explore beautiful adornos (embellishments) – circles, brushes and little drawings on the floor – and how to use them naturally without disturbing your balance or the connection.

That is perhaps what makes calesitas so special: the leader creates the movement, but leaves space for the follower to decorate it and make it her own.

A simple movement that can become incredibly elegant, musical and expressive – and one of those figures that just looks beautiful on the dance floor.
