When a child with a vivid imagination hits a slump, they might start stories they never finish or feel like they’re just repeating the plots of their favourite books. Here are three ways to spark fresh ideas:
🟢 Try genre-mashing: What happens when you put a detective on a spaceship? Or a wizard in a football match? Mixing two different worlds forces them to think outside the box and create something entirely new.
🟡 Play the "what if...?" game: Take a classic story setup and flip it. What if the Princess didn’t want to be rescued? What if the "chosen one" just wanted to be a chef? Breaking the rules is where the magic happens.
⚪ Focus on emotional truth: Encourage them to write about a time they felt brave, embarrassed, or excited. When they connect their own real feelings to their characters, the story becomes authentic and powerful.
Our Creative Writing Club for Kids and Teens is designed to inspire your creative child to push past any blocks.

Your story might not be “boring”, your characters might just have it too easy. One of the biggest mistakes new writers make is giving their characters what they want too quickly. That means there's no tension, no obstacles and no reason for readers to keep turning the page.
In this post, I break down the powerful storytelling concept of the “conflict engine”, the thing that makes novels addictive and unforgettable.
You’ll learn:
✔ Why every great story runs on “No”
✔ How conflict creates tension and momentum
✔ The difference between internal and external conflict
✔ How to raise stakes that actually matter
✔ Why your characters NEED to struggle
Your readers won’t fall in love with perfection and ease, they fall in love with perseverance. If your story feels stuck or flat, this could completely transform your writing.

Conflict: Why your characters need a "No" before they get a "Yes" - Accomplish Press
I’ve seen it happen so many times. A talented writer comes to me with a beautiful premise, lovely prose, and characters they clearly adore. But about thirty pages in, the story just… stalls. It feels like a car that’s run out of petrol on a flat road. There’s no momentum, no urgency, and hon...

Are you a professional woman with expertise in a particular topic? Is your expertise getting lost in a sea of facts? In 2026, readers are looking for more than just a manual. They are looking for human connection. While your expertise tells them 'what' to do, your story tells them 'why' it matters.
Think about the business books that actually stayed with you. Chances are, they weren't just lists of data: they were narratives of personal challenges, hard-won triumphs, and authentic growth. By weaving your own journey into your professional wisdom, you create a book that doesn't just inform: it transforms.
At Accomplish Press, we specialize in helping professional women find their authentic voice and bridge the gap between authority and empathy. Your experience is your superpower; it’s time to share it with the world.

Happy Children’s Day!!!
Every great writer was once a child with a wild imagination, endless questions, and stories waiting to be told. Today, we celebrate the dreamers and little minds creating entire worlds from their imagination.
May every child grow up believing their voice matters, their creativity is powerful, and their stories deserve to be heard. 💛
